The Abuso Inn is a lovely, reasonably priced hotel. Our room was spacious and had a view of the water. Our trash was taken daily and our beds were made. There was air conditioning and hot water. The bathroom was also nice. Breakfast was served on the roof, which provided us with an incredible view. The owners are lovely people... More

We stayed at the Abuso Hotel in Stonetown four nights. There is an incredible view from the rooftop breakfast area of the ocean and harbor. The rooms were large, but a little tired. The owner Hamid is very knowledgeable and friendly. He plans to continue rennovating and painting the interior of the hotel. The internet connection was a problem, but... More

This is usually my landing pad in stone town. The homeliness of the place is what always brings me back. You can never miss the breakfast here... The beds, they are big. You got to try this place, you won't be disappointed.

This hotel is in the perfect location to explore Stonetown. It does not look like much from outside but once you get to your room all is good!! Everything works, its 30sec from the beach and a few minutes walking to basically anywhere in Stonetown. The breakfasts are basic but ok. Keep in mind that they are a "dry" hotel,... More

We have visited Stonetown a few times over the years but this was our first time at Abuso Inn. I must say when the taxi pulled up at the front door I inwardly groaned and wished we'd stuck to our usual accommodation just down the road. However once we went through the door and up the stairs to the reception... More

The hotel is in a good location - can walk to a lot of places. The bed was comfortable, but our A/C did not work very well nor did we ever have hot water for the shower. The hotel is old and would have been charming if they would fix some small issues such as vanity doors not closing, windows... More

We had a fabulous 4 night stay at Abuso Inn and I highly recommend it for many reasons! Great views of the harbor from the rooftop breakfast area and from the rooms, Large comfortable rooms with very comfortable beds, strong and reliable FREE internet connection, great bathrooms with good lighting, electrical outlets, and hot shower, accommodating/friendly/English speaking hosts who made... One thing to keep in mind about Stonetown is that all (okay almost all) the buildings look old and a bit decrepit. So, you can't hold that against any one hotel. Abuso Inn is one of those places- the rooms and some parts of the hotel seem like they could use a little TLC. But, the staff keep it really... More

If you are looking for clean and comfortable accommodation in central Stone Town, the Abuso Inn is ideal. Despite being surrounded by more glamorous hotels like the Serena Inn and Tembo House, the Abuso is difficult to beat for location and value for money. Situated just off the main shopping street, the Abuso is a three-minute stroll from the open-air... More

Paid $80 for a double with a wonderful Zanzibarian carved bed frame complete with mosquito net (holes in the net, but no mosquitoes so no problem) Roof terrace is used for breakfast which is buffet style and all-you-can-eat. Terrace itself was a bit spartan and directly opposite a huge new hotel that is currently being built. Thankfully no 'builder's bum'... More
