If this is your only trip to Zanzibar, stay here. After walking the streets of Zanzibar for 6 hours, I would not stay anywhere else. Great location. Great beauty. Great history. Have a gin and tonic and watch the dhows sail past as the sun sets into the gorgeous Indian Ocean. Not to be missed! more

Although there is a backlog of maintenance, this is a fascinating building but not one for mobility restricted. It is ideally placed for sightseeing and access to the airport. Feel like I was in another place after I have read previous reviews, thank goodness I never read them before I got there. The Africa House was marvelous.
