Spent one night and it was ok until er went to bed. Loud and noisy music from the night club RIGHT next door. We made two complaints during that night, wanted to change room but the hotel was ful. We stayded 4 nights at this hotel, and we found it to be very good. Nice clean rooms, whith historic athmosphere and reall nice staff. As normal on Zanzibar, the electricity was cut sometimes, but no worries, because the staff directly started up a generator. The hotel is located right by the sea in the historic Stone Town. More

Tembo Hotel is a favourite of ours. Right on the sea front, close to Stone Town, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and had air-con. We are returning again in 2012. Barb L More

Having heard a lot about this place was very disappointed. It looks very old and very dirty, uncleaned carpets and dirty walls, decorated with no taste and cheap (-looking) paints. Ive stayed at thi hotel a number of times when travelled to Zanzibar. Close to airport, Stone Town shopping and night life. It is a good stop-over hotel for tourists. I would recommend adding this hotel to your trip to experience Stown Town for one night. For tourists remember this is not a resort on a beautiful beach. More
