I stayed at the Clove hotel in the middle of a 6 week tour of africa. The hotel was a lovely place to have a break from camping!! The room was a single room, with a double bed. It had it's own toilet and shower. The room had a fan and a good box mosquito net around the bed. It... More

We stayed in Stonetown for 9 days and lived in a family-room in the Clove Hotel - a highly recommendable place. It is located in the centre, right behind the House of Wonders and the Forodhani Gardens. The rooms are very comfortable - not very big, but clean and nicely furnished with large beds and pretty good mosquito-nets. The roof... More

We stayed at Clove Hotel for 3 days and had a lovely time. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a rooftop terrace where we had breakfast every day. The terrace has a gorgeous sea view and in the afternoon we layed on the benches and relaxed. The staff is very very friendly and helpfull and Lisette, the... More

Stayed for our first two nights in Zanzibar at the Clove Hotel. Great location, nice basic rooms and a lovely rooftop lounge (with honour bar with good prices and where breakfast is served). Overall, a nice basic place to use as a base for wandering round stonetown.

I have friends who have stayed at the Clove and recommended it, but out of 5 hotels I stayed at in Zanzibar, this was by far the least comfortable and the worst value for the money. I had booked three nights but only stayed one, forfeiting my online booking fee. I felt the rooms were very overpriced, and were not... More

What a fantastic experience - it's hard to fault The Clove! We booked via the hotel website, nearly 9 months in advance and they were always courteous and pleasant, even organising a taxi to pick us up from the airport so we didn't need to worry about touts. As soon as we arrived, we knew we had made the right... More

This hotel was nice and clean. Very simple accomodation and washroom. The terrace bar was very nice and the breakfast was one of the best in Zanzibar. The manager (Dutch lady) was very friendly and helpful. The location is very good. The main problem for us was that it was extremely hot and we felt we were sleeping in an... More
