I had been in the hostal for two night. I had a good singole room for 25$ each, and i find the hostal very good. Is Located in the Mkunazini Zone, center of Stone Town, near Darajani Market & Forodhani, near too Lukmaan (very good place for taste the local kitchen). The room have fun and very clear. They have... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and after the second night we both found bites all over our bodies and then found loads of bed bugs crawling through our sheets as they live in the timber. We then found more bugs all through our clothes. We told the hostel "owner" immediately and said we were leaving the hostel and wanted... More

Nice air-conditioned room for $20/night. Can't beat it. Good location, easier to find than a few of the other budget options, very clean and definitely a very professional staff. Did I mention the air-conditioning? It was a godsend finding this place. Even if you're on a budget, spring for the extra cost to stay here. You'll be happy you did.

Great location, right in the centre. Rooms are basic but provide all the necessities and showers are sometimes hot. Breakfast is good - 2 slices of toast, omelette, juice, tea/coffee, fruit. Good wifi in entrance although seats are REALLY uncomfy. Also the staff seemed to change the price of accommodation - when we rang up they said $15 per night,... More

We had a really nice stay in a double room for a good price (bargain). It's right in the old town - the photos dont do it justice, clean and tidy with good bathrooms and hot water. The room even had aircon and a four poster bed! Breakfast is simple but good with juice, omlette fruit, bread and tea and... More

I finished my trip from Comoros for a few days in Zanzibar. This Jambo Guesthouse was recommended to me by two different guest and I really enjoyed my stay there. Location (in Old Town) is good (less than 10 minutes walking to Forodhani Gardens), friendly/helpful staff, nice breakfast. Rooms are clean, big beds, even A/C is there, bathrooms very clean... More

We stayed at Jambo Guesthouse for 3 nights. Managed to get a twin room for 50,000 per night with a/c. The location is right in the heart of Stone Town and the cool Green Garden restaurant is opposite. The staff made us very welcome and we had lots of interesting conversation. Breakfast was really good and the showers were hot.... More

I booked and paid for 4 nights, turned up and they said they had no record of my booking and their hotel was full. I had to go elsewhere and find a place to stay. What a waste of time and trouble and stress they caused me. Luckily I called up agoda website and they managed to refund me, but... More

This is a great place to stay in Stone Town. It's a short walk to the downtown area. Prices are excellent and rooms are simple and clean. Bathroom is shared for some rooms and is clean and sparse (no luxuries here) but it's a hostel. Staff were very kind and accommodating. Would recommend staying here without any hesitation and look... I've stayed three times over the last few years. If looking to stay in Stonetown for more than a week, I'd strongly recommend you book into a hotel. If not too fussy and perhaps only staying a Stonetown a few days before moving on, this place is perfect. It's cheap, centrally located and the rooms are air conditioned and secured.... More
