I totally recommend Jambo Guesthouse for those seeking to enjoy the delights of Stone Town at a budget friendly price. The staff was very friendly and helpful, advised us on sites to see,how to get around without being exploited(conned). The rooms are lovely,we took 3 rooms, and all rooms have lovely beautifully carved Swahili four poster beds. The rooms are not ensuite though, but there are... Zanzibar accommodation is notoriously expensive so we were incredibly impressed with value for money at Jambo Guesthouse! For $40 USD per night for a double room, there was airconditioning and fans, free wifi, complimentary pick-up from the ferry terminal or airport and breakfast included (eggs cooked to order with fresh bread & fruit). The rooms are very basic but clean... More

We stayed here for two nights. We got a free pick up from the airport. The reception area is tiny and can get a bit crowded, but the staff were very helpful. They booked a spice tour for us, and arranged private transport to the other side of the island (Matemwe). Our room had lovely four poster beds with mosquito... More

I totally recommend Jambo guesthouse. I have beend to Zanibar over new years without checking in advance that all hostels might be completely overbooked. I just got to jambo by chance and asked them for a free room for one night. The staff is unbelievable friendly. They arranged a free room for me and even gave me a big discount... More

Located in the heart of stone town is this budget friendly guesthouse. It is very clean and the guy at reception is very welcoming. If you are visiting in Dec make sure you get the air conditioning cause it gets extra hot. The bathrooms are shared. They try and keep the bathrooms clean. All in all would recommend as a... More

Very good accommodation, helpful staff, there is an ATM nearby (be aware that there are only 3 ATM's in Zanzibar and they are all in stone town), everything within walking distance and a very nice breakfast. I was visiting with a group of friends for a short break after climbing Kilimanjaro. We had booked for one night at Jambo Guest... More

We stayed here a couple of times. Rooms downstairs are a bit dark but you only have to share two bathrooms between three rooms as opposed to six rooms sharing the two upstairs bathrooms (both sets of bathrooms were cleaned frequently so were always spotless). Staff are friendly and helpful - happy to help us make onwards arrangements. Rooms are... More

The place is in the middle of stonetown with the staff helping with any queries of the town. Ask them where to go and how much you should pay to get the local prices. Comfortable rooms and a good little breakfast with a smile

Very good budget accomodation. Everything in Stone Town is walking distance. There is a convenient ATM very close, some street food stands and some restaurants too. Staff is very helpful. I totally recommend this place for budget travelers.

This is a rare place where the rooms look better than the photos! It's a bit pricey for a shared bathroom, but it was so comfortable and well located that I'll still give it a 5. Very comfortable bed, mosquito net. Clean bathrooms. Great breakfast. Wi-Fi in dining room. Wanted to stay longer :)
