This hotel was booked last minute because we forgot to book a night in Stone Town before we headed to Nungwi. The place was filthy, no running water, no tap water... They also advertise wifi which is not true! Nothing good to say all in all. The breakfast was far from enough, no choice at all, staff couldn't be bothered... More

The hotel did not pick us up when we arrive at midnight, as we had agreed by email. No night reception, we had to wait 10/15 minutes to have someone open the door. The building in itself is weird (4 or 5 floors), very old bathroom, poor bed. I was supposed to go back to this hotel on my way... More

We stayed for two nights in July 2015 for 75000 for a twin room. Pros were a good level of cleanliness, breakfast was reasonable although not served until 0830, a bit late for me, and a great rooftop for relaxing with a view of stone town. However, our room had partly broken windows combined with terrible incorrectly sized mosquito nets... More

Good but very basic accommodation. We stayed in a double room and payed 54000 shillings. This is really a good and faire price for a stay in Stonetown. The location is close to the ferry. Don't take a cab just walk. There is no wifi at the accommodation.

At first I was a bit skeptical since it's a bit hidden, one can easily miss it, and the rickety steep stairs. We got a great deal on the rooms at 10$ pp excluding breakfast since we enjoyed walking around stonetown looking for local cafes to have breakfast. The rooms n beds are big n comfy. Loved the swahili details... More

Certainly not the top of the range in accommodation, but for a backpacker it is quite classy. Rooms have fan, mozzie nets; although they don't have en suites, loos and showers are not far away from any of the rooms. Breakfast is part of the deal, omelette toast and jam, and fruit and tea or coffee. The omelette was never... More

We spent few days in Stone Town and really enjoyed the Zanzibar life. Zanzibar accommodation is within the city center and close to anything that Stone Town can offer. We spent $15 per person in a triple double bed room with en-suite toilet + breakfast was included. Amazing view from the breakfast room and friendly staff.

Hello Fellas, I recently stayed in this hotel it's just AWESOME. The best part is the room top, where they provided breakfast with sunrise or dinner along the moon light. A place up so high where you can see the entire stone town along with three minor islands of Zanzibar (Prison, Bawe, Snake). The staff is great, friendly, helpful, and... More

Firstly take some bread or about 2km of string so when you head out at night you can find your way back especially after a few safari's. No road nearby so no taxi. You could walk past it & not even realise. We stayed at ZDL having returned late in the day from the east coast & wanted to get... More

If you are looking for a fancy bed and an air-conditioned room, you are in the wrong place. But if you don't mind a normal bed with a mosquito net (most important thing) then it's perfectly fine. Unless you plan on spending the day in your room, it is a great place to leave your things and walk though Stone... More
