The hotel doesn't look much on the outside. It's a bit better on the inside. It's easy to get lost in the many hallways on each floor. Big plus for a working, though quite noisy air conditioning. The breakfast isn't anything special. On the positive side: the hotel's perfect location in Stonetown.

As I walked in to the lobby of the hotel I was quite impressed! It was very cool as it had fantastic air conditioning. The hotel staff were friendly when checking us in. We were staying here as part of a g adventures tour. We started here twice and the first room we had was fine cool with the air... More

Stayed here for 3 nights while on tour with G Adventures. The lobby is gorgeous with the carved wood and we were so thankful for the air conditioning as Zanzibar is incredibly muggy (hard on this poor Canadian lol!). The room was very large and the beds were comfortable with clean bedding. The shower left something to be desired but... More

Rooms haven't been updated since 1960 perhaps, and were falling apart. Mattresses were painful to sleep on, A/C was terribly loud, and the bathroom fixtures were barely holding on to the wall. Volume on TV spiked or disappeared with each channel change. No hangers in the closets. Shower curtain stopped 2 feet from the floor and that meant it was... More

My 8month Daughter, first trip to Zanzibar. place was fairly good, the location was ideal... a stroll right to forodhani and the market. The rooms are quite spacious and all amenities are included within with flactuating Wifi. We had some issue with electrical lighting but was sorted out. I would advice before you check in please ask them to replace... More

Background: Our overland tour group spent one night here upon arriving from the Dar es Salaam ferry and en route to Nungwi. PROS: Location is its best asset. Although not exactly a beachfront property, it is almost next door to a couple of large souvenir shops, walking distance to restaurants and a few steps away from Stone Town Café (which,... More

We only stayed one night as part of our G Adventure tour. Nice restored wood lobby. Clean and comfortable. Shower was great, we had been without hot water for most of previous week. Breakfast was good. Staff were helpful during our stay and also when we dropped in briefly on our return to Stone Town to pick up our ferry... More

Stayed there in Aug2013, there was power outage in that area on that day...Luckily they have a very big generator ,however surprisingly the generator is turned off from 12AM till 5AM, just the time when we need the power for sleeping comfortably with airconditioners on! Me and my family including an infant, had a hard time sleeping the whole night due... More
