We stayed in a large room at this hotel and it was so so so hot. the "air conditioning" machine never worked, and the fans were not enough to keep the room cool. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting, and the taps didn't work. When you had a shower it flooded the entire floor of the bathroom which never dried. There... More

This hotel was ideal for us, reasonably priced clean accommodation. It is also in a very good location for exploring stone town. Staff were very friendly and happy to help. We loved exploring stone town and this was a great hotel for our trip

This is an excellent choice for the traveller travelling on a budget. The rooms are large, and mine even had a four post bed in it! The hotel is also located close to the harbour, and is on a quiet side street. Staff are friendly, and felt safe staying here. Recommended.

Great location, affordable, very clean and a nice breakfast with fresh fruit, juice, coffee & tea. Staff was very helpful in making last minute reservations/arrange a private taxi to Ngalawa Beach Village on the East side of the island. Wifi was only available in the common areas, but seating was never a problem. Didn't like the cats in the common... More

The Pearl of Zanzibar is a fantastic budget option. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! First off, the bed was wonderful. We arrived to the Pearl after a long safari, and we absolutely loved the bed. The AC in the room was very much appreciated. Their breakfasts weren't really anything to write home about, but they were filling and all we... More

I spent one glorious night in Stonetown, experiencing the night-life and the daytime shopping. I had a huge room, so big in fact that I could of shared it with another family. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. I had an amazing experience of being escorted by Jackson, the Maasai working at the Pearl, to the Maasai shop. He... More
