This place is a gem hidden in the middle of the Stone Town. The place is very quite and a good way to experience the feel of the the historic town. Five minutes walk from Forodhani gardens and darajani market. The place is also very budget considering that you are staying in the Stone Town. I paid 24,000 Shillings per... More

Stayed here for two nights, basic but clean and within easy access of town. Good value for money, and very helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Very effective fan and air con. Fridge in the room was an added bonus.

decent hotel in the heart of stone town, only 15 min walk from forodhani gardens and the waterfront , close to ferry terminals and banks. a lil tricky to get back to since its a maze in stone town, but easy once you've done the walk a few times. wonderful narrow alleys ways full of shops. good price decent breakfast... Was ok, better then other places I looked at but really loud. If you don't want to hear noise until 3am and then be woken up at 6 might want to rethink. Also don't get the front room that's next to the tv. Staff was nice but breakfast was annoying. Said it was at 7:30 but more like 8. My... More

Manch Lodge offers good value for money and is very conveniently located. We were able to walk everywhere during our stay there. We had only planned to stay a couple of nights, but loved Stone Town so much that we ended up staying longer. The lodge has a nice atmosphere. It's a bit shabby and could be a little cleaner,... The staff were very friendly. Although I rather stupidly tried to go out of the hotel during Ramadan in a pair of shorts, the staff politely asked me to go and change due to it being Ramadan. I was not offended whatsoever and they put it in such a way that I did not feel embarrassed. We always had a... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed for one night and walked here from the ferry dock after arriving from dar. It is in a beautiful part of stone town. For breakfast we had pancakes, bread, omelette, tea, fruit and juice. It was really nice. The rooms were clean and very large. The beds were comfy too. Overall I... More

Dirty and the dorm room had like 30 beds in the room. Do yourself a favor and go next door to Haven and get yourself a private room for $14/night. The only thing good here was decent wifi. While sitting outside, I watched SOOO many dissatisfied groups/families who left upset, arguing with the front desk over some matter or other... More

14$ pp in dorms, fast wifi and a really nice breakfast is included! Enjoyed very much to stay there! The staff is nice and helpful, the area is good and quite. The water in the shower aren't always hot, but not freezing cold either.. so it's ok :) all the other places in stone town are more expensive and the... More

Perfect for a base in Stone Town, friendly staff. Stayed in 5 person private bedroom and in dorm, inexpensive. Delicious breakfast, serves lunch indoors for tourists during Ramadan which was a major plus.
