Excellent welcome at reception from Christina, if only the rest of the staff made as much effort. The room was clean and basic with a fan and Ac unit. Shower was adequate. This is an old hotel with many original features, overlooking the port, and so convenient if you need to get an early ferry. The breakfast was basic. With... More

The mattress has seen better days - the springs are practically sticking out of the fabric. Linens are torn, water pressure's weak at best, too many mosquitoes in the bedroom and the free breakfast is completely forgettable. The only reason we stayed here was to avoid the dangerous looking touts hounding us.

Stayed here for 1 night and would not stay again. The airconditioner worked however was noisy and flooded our balcony each time it was turned on. One bed in our twin room was comfortable enough however the other was terrible with a 'bar' (?) down the middle. The shower was located above the toilet (go figure?!) so wet everything in... More

We stayed here for one night in July 2013, and it was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We were travelling in Kenya and Tanzania for a month, and were on a budget, so I have plenty to compare this hotel with. The shower was dreadful, there was no hot water, the aircon was way too... Unfortunately, while there was a film festival going on, we were forced to stay here on an unscheduled stop in Stone Town, subsequently all other hotels were full, except this place... need I say more! This is not a hotel to stay at, certainly until the owners spend and make basic improvements. There are much better options for a similar... More

We came to this hotel after fly 540 cancelled our flight to mombasa and they had to book us in a hotel. We didnt know it was this pathetic. The only good thing is their wi-fi. The building looks very old and can collapse any minute. The funiture is really old too. I stayed in room 203 where the A/c... More

It's a good budget hotel (one star), being a resident of Tanzania I only paid TZS. 55,000/= per night for a double room (approx USD. 34.00), rooms were big and neat though tv was not working, and the aircon was making noise. It's location is excellent, it can be reached just in 5 minutes walking distance (100 metres) from the... More

Sheets were clean, AC worked, balcony view interesting - looking straight out over the docks, staff friendly (enough), with hot water (albeit that we had to take the shower head off for the water to come out) but all in all an over-crowded room, with little style. If you don't mind paying 65 USD for a double and don't intend... More

So me and my friends arrive at this hotel marine, less than 5 min walk from the ferry. We booked a triple room, no. 205. The hotel is pretty old and its been painted and a few furniture have been added. The room had decent facilities as you would expect in another hotel (A/C, fan, t.v and hot water). The... More

I stayed at this hotel after missing the ferry back to Dar es Salaam. I needed somewhere inexpensive and close to the port for the 7:00am boat departure. I checked to see if there was space and there was a room. The reception was friendly and helpful. I saw some other foreign guests when I arrived, so I knew that... More
