The service and the staff are the most rude staff I have ever seen at a hotel. The rooms are over priced and when the staff were approached with an issue they refused to help u and said sorry I'm just doing what I am told. I am the manager not the owner. The manager told me his name was... More

I am local zanzibari and I booked safari lodge from my family from uk. I was impressed with the changes. Hotel has been taken over by a new group that own other two hotels. They have just completed their renovations this month and it's impressive. I visited them a few months ago and it was not handled well under old... More

The Safari Lodge is a good - cheap place to spend 1 night at Stone Town before moving to the North. Do not expect the charming hotel that some pictures on the web may suggest - let me be straight: it's not the case. Most of the rooms underwent a significant renovation recently and they are pretty good, with super... More

We stayed one night at the end of an organised tour. The staff were quite friendly and organised a car to the airport and late checkout. The hotel is undergoing major renovations and most of the rooms were being worked on. It was noisy during the day (we didn't care, we were out exploring Stone Town) but the noise stopped... More

I stayed here as part of an overland trip and would never choose to stay here of my own free will. OK, so the location is central and close to the ferry terminal and the fort. One plus point. Another plus point for a comfortable bed. The positives end there. The room was a decent size but the mosquito nets... More

Background: I was in Zanzibar on a tour with the company Intrepid. We spent one night here when we arrived in Stonetown. Location: I'm not too confident that I would find this place again if I went back, but we were met right outside the ferry building by the "big tree" (yes, there's probably only one and you WILL see... This hotel is just a walk from the ferry terminal and the city centre. The walk is fine during the day time, but at night time they have no street lights within the narrow lanes. The hotel itself is ok. Our room was very nice with a big double bed and large mosquito net as well as nicely furnished. The... More

It is in a nice location hidden among the narrow walled streets of stone town, required the repeated assistance of locals to find my way back to hotel but this added to the charm. WIFI was strong and was within a five minute stroll to the ferry terminal back to Dar es Salaam so very handy. Enjoy Stone town it... More

Arrived to this place in Stone Town. The rooms were ok. They were dated, which made them look dirty. Mosquito nets had a ton of holes. Wore flip flops in the shower, wasn't sure how clean it was. It was a hot shower though, which was appreciated. There was a man that hung out in the lobby all night a... More

WiFi is strong. Showers hot. Rooms clean. There's nothing fancy here but it works. Laundry is available for a fee. It was easy to walk into the center of town from the hotel. Breakfast was included but was extremely basic. Bread, basically. Staff was friendly and we felt safe.
