The best thing about this hotel is the beautiful, spacious, tastefully decorated rooms. Great location. Very friendly staff. AC works perfectly. We’d recommend the rooms above ground floor, since the surrounding alleys can get a bit noisy. The breakfast was delicious. We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant too one night, and it was also great. The only drawbacks are... More

Stayed at this hotel and was pleasantly impressed. It was clean and unique. The staff are friendly and very "rafiki." Would stay here again and recommend to anybody planning to visit zanzibar/stone town. The rooms are spacious and close to the city center. The hotel rooftop is cozy and has a nice view of the city. Love it!

I highly recommend this hotel. My family and I spent 2 nights at the hotel and we loved it! The staff was very friendly and professional, the room was lovely and spacious and the service was superb! In our next trip to Zanzibar we will definitely stay at Kisiwa.

We stayed for a couple of nights while visiting Stone Town and really enjoyed the location and the history of the house. Room was quiet and comfortable and had great rooftop views over the city - we really felt like we were in Zanzibar! Staff was helpful and polite. Rooftop dining room was wonderful for breakfast and dinner. We would... More

We stayed at Kisiwa House on our way to Matemwe on the North East Coast. It is a hotel in that was formerly the residence of a Sultana. We were on the third floor in an enormous room with closed shutters. If we opened the shutters it negated the effect of the A/C. As a result one was either hot... More

A very nice hotel in the centre of Stone Town. Clean, nice people. Very good breakfast with posibility of several choices (Zanzibar pancake, eggs, omlette etc.). Very good Wi-Fi in every room. Nice restaurant on the top of the roof - very delicious. The personel very helpful and kind.

We stayed here the first night of a three night stay in Zanzibar. It was a close in location with the hustle and bustle of the city right outside your window. Due to a fractured foot we stayed on the first floor which was a little too close to the street, but it was very interesting. The room was clean,... More

We stayed here in November for two nights. It is a boutique hotel and we prefer this style to the larger hotels. Breakfast good and varied, staff friendly. Rooms and bathrooms comfortable and spotless. Ate here our first night, not great food or value and limited choice. We left here at late afternoon for a flight back to Dar al... More

We came to this hotel after spending 14 nights in lovely camps in Tanzanire and Kenya and were hoping for a special end to the trip. We were sadly disappointed. The hotel is located in a scruffy area off a main street that hardly gives a good first impression. The staff are do not wear uniforms and lack professionalism and... More

Great location in Stone Town, and very quaint atmospheric - not on the water, but a nice water view from the rooftop restaurant - a bit of a hike to get up there on the 4th floor. Not a 5 star hotel, but I'd give it 4.
