whatever you want to do in this hotel, just hope you do not depend on the staff. The hotel is a beautiful building with a lot of charm, but it does not make up for the bad service. we traveled as a group of friends and had various problems that made our stay unpleasant and very stressful. The spa, the... More

The hotel is located in Stone Town, which is a very noisy and crowded town, but the view from the top of The Seyyida is just perfect. the staff are very nice and delicate, and the food is perfect. I spent there the first two days of my honeymoon, we missed the dinner time at the first night we arrived,... More

Bottom line: The hotel is located in Stone Town and had a friendly staff but the noise from the alley was so bad I couldn't sleep. I stayed in Zanzibar four different times from May-Aug but my trip to the Seyyida was the most disappointing. Don't get me wrong, the hotel was very nice, the service was pretty good, and... More

On a recent trip to Zanzibar, we stayed three nights at the Seyyida hotel. It was a restful oasis from the hot and dusty surrounding area. The hotel is tucked away in Stone Town, just off a main roadway. There is a great view of the water from the rooftop restaurant and the staff is friendly and accomodating. The room... More

We recently stayed at the Seyyida Hotel as a family of 5. We found the staff on our arrival extremely welcoming and friendly. We had a fabulous family room on the ground floor, which is beautifully decorated, very clean and very comfortable. Nice bathroom in between the two rooms which are very spacious and totally suitable for a couple and... More

This is an excellent hotel inside of Stone Town. Rooms are spacious, with a luxerious feel. They are not without flaw, but the staff are very helpful, and will fix it if you have a problem/question. We had a water leakage in the drain of the sink (easy to fix, but hey I am on vaction:-)), and they switched and... More

Charming hotel in the old Stonetown. It is almost hidden in the narrow streets, but once you step inside the hotel you find big spacious rooms and a wonderful rooftop restaurant with a nice view of the ocean and the city. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. I was served excellent food and the staff was very friendly... More

On arrival by taxi, you need to walk through a dark and rather dodgy passage to get to the hotel entrance. The up side of this is that you are literally in Stone town so you don't need to go too far if you want to find the quaint Zanzibar shops - It's still a fair walk to the more... More

If you're in Stone Town, I would definitely recommend getting a meal and/or some drinks here. The rooftop restaurant also has a terrace with great views of the harbor from both areas. We had the carrot salad and King Fish with potatoes and vegetables, all the food had great flavor and was displayed well. The service was friendly and quick.... More

Everyone pretty much raves about this hotel but my experience is mixed. Beautiful hotel and conveniently located. Positives: The rooms are prettily decorated without being cheesy and the restaurant staff is great. The terrace pavilion has a wonderful view and is a quiet place to chill. The very generous breakfast alone is worth staying for (excellent variety although they repeatedly... More
