Stayed at Sayyida for 4 days for a girls holiday all the way from London we were too tired but the welcome was ever so refreshing we had a beautiful spacious room we apparently had the best room in the hotel on the top floor with the best view the breakfast was good with a lot of selections I would... Excellent hotel and staff. We stayed with our 2 year old and nothing was an effort. Rooms very spacious and clean / tidy. The food is excellent and the roof top is awesome. We can recommend this hotel to all who may be interested. Staff especially helpful and always pleasent. Diana the manager is the best who often entertained our... More

super hotel with great staff. I stayed at seyyida for 10 days. the hotel is stylish in a traditional way, with antique furniture and whitewashed walls. Had a lovely, spacious room. The roof terrace with sea view is sublime. The brekafast is very good; fresh fruit and home made breads. The best, culinary dinner I had in Zanzibar because the kitchen... More

A great place, excellent prices, location and staff. After a first night snafu on our reservation in which we were givena room with no view and virtually no windows. Diana, the GM and Mwana, the Reservationist went out of their way to make things pleasant. Relocated to another room the next morning. Took care of all but one meal and... More

We stayed there at room 301 for two nights just after Christmas. The reception wasn't that warm but the room was great. It was spacious, clean, had a working AC and safe plus the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast at the roof top restaurant was nice with good pastries and beautiful views of the harbour. The hotel is just a... More

Could be so much better with some attention to detail - but I suppose this is Africa. We stayed here on two separate occasions during our trip to Tanzania so got a fairly good picture of the hotel. Pluses are a beautiful building, nice location, large, airy and spacious rooms, a rooftop restaurant with stunning views. Wifi is fee, but... More

On the downside... Hard to find and tucked away, it is typical of Stone Town slightly Fawlty Towers and a little chaotic! Our room was lovely but we had lights and sockets that didn't work and intermittent electricity (again that's Stone Town!) and the generator in the alleyway outside is very noisy so be warned if your windows overlook that... I stayed one night only and the service was very good. We arrived ahead of our room being ready. However they offered us the Spa to freshen up and they took our stuff to the room when we were already touring the town. Room are great! neat, with charming decor and finesse. Rooftop terrace is a beautiful mix of omani... More

We stayed two nights in room 202. The hotel is pretty but located in a very busy and rowdy alley which is hard to get to - taxi may not be able to give you door to door service. Speaking of service, the front desk staff are very kind and courteous, the restaurant staff a little confused, and Fatima in... More

As a single female, chose this hotel for security and location. I will admit it may be hard to find the first time but there is a wide walkway straight to the Foordham gardens. When I returned early evening the turn down service revealed a most inviting and lovely lit room. Woe is me - all alone in such a... More
