Great location, great price, great service, and fantastic complimentary breakfast! The staff were accommodating and helpful. We had a little confusion in regards to the rooms we had requested, and the staff did everything they could to quickly fix the mix up and ensure that we had a great stay. Also, the breakfast is really great! Much more than the... More

Very convenient location in the heart of Stone Town. Well priced and very comfortable rooms, clean and safe. Air con and fans so it kept the temperature down even in the hot part of the year in January. Lovely zanzibar style beds and furniture. Nice breakfast space on the roof. Would recommend for a budget stay location in Stone Town.

I stayed in this hotel in November 2014. $50 and 20.000 Shilling (approx. $10) was taken from my luggage in my room on the one and only day I left my key at reception for housekeeping to clean my room. When I reported this to the staff they immediately responded that it was unthinkable that the housekeeping could have taken... More

Good B&B, very helpful staff/management. Would book again. People from all over the world. If you like, familiar atmosphere (at least at breakfast time). Good connetctions with tour operators. Save and clean.

Clean rooms and full of character, Kiponda boasts a lovely terrace and breakfast, but it is hard to know who is managing this place. There seems to be no central figure at reception, be it day or evening time, just a collection of random men sitting on the steps to the entrance. When I checked out I was even asked... More

Three of us stayed in a room here and we were volunteers so the cost was an important factor. The price was very affordable but the room was pretty much what you'd expect for the cost. It wasn't the cleanest of places, the bathroom was one of those get in, take care of business, get out kinds of deals. There... More

The staff at the Kiponda B&B are very friendly and helpful. It is centrally located and a stone throw away from the pier, museums, alley ways, and Forodhani park, which at dusk converts into a wonderful food court where you can eat fresh fish, sugar cane juice and watch the beautiful people of Tanzania, particularly families snacking away. My en-suite... More

I've stayed here several times and it used to be my 'go-to' hotel in Stone Town. It's centrally located, close to the ferry and to Ngoma Kongwe (good for Sauti za Busara festival) and Forodhani and all that. But it's still on the edge of Stone Town so you can still find it after a couple of beers. The breakfast... More

We stayed at Kiponda as part of an Intrepid tour and were very happy with their choice. The hotel is clean, close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. Our room was on the top floor and had a nice breeze when the window was open. We had a private bathroom and a very comfortable bed with a mosquito net.... More

This little hotel nestled into the winding old streets of Stone Town is perfect for a weekend getaway, or even just a stopover after flying into Zanzibar. It's clean and offers a great breakfast on the roof top terrace, with free wifi. Perfectly located, only a 5 min walk into town. Safe and comfortable- will stay again!
