Stayed at Al-Johari for one night on our last night in Zanzibar. The staff are all very friendly, the receptionist is good fun for a joke and threw in a bottle of bubbly when he realised we were honeymooners. The Al Johari was extremely well located in the Shangani district of Stone Town (Everything you would want to see was within walking distance!) Sunset on the roof terrace was lovely and the food in the restaurant was exceptionally good (the crab curry being a wonderful house speciality and the chef coming out to speak to us about the meal).... Nice location. Tucked away but within easy walking reach of most sights. Very friendly staff, including the male receptionist who was polite, efficient and helpful. We spent two nights here at the beginning of our holiday and one at the end.
