We have lived in Stone Town for many yearend walked past the Asmini on many an occasion and never thought to go in. Last week we did. And we were happy we did. The rooftop restaurant is very pleasant, the staff is nice and helpful, the internet is free, the food was great, the prices affordable, and the Asmini serves... More

I stayed at the Asmini for four nights in a double king bed room. The first night I woke with a few bites on my arm and wrist which I assumed were a mosquito bite. The next night I had a ton of small red marks on my feet, again I thought it was from maybe walking in the sand.... More

Very central for walking around the town and comfortable enough for one night stay. Very old style and in need of update but staff were friendly. Room had ensuite shower and toilet and a ceiling fan. Breakfast was on the roof top and pleasant - selection of fruit, eggs, bread and drinks. Reminded me of the design of the Marrakesh... More

I stayed at the Asmini for one night after three previous nights at The Coffee House (which was a gem). The Asmini faded by comparison . It is an interesting building in Arab courtyard style, but, while clean, does not have any stand out features. Wi-fi was poor and only available in the mosquito ridden atrium on the ground floor.... Good value for money and close walking distance to the ferry which is great for heavy bags! Very friendly and helpful staff. Credit card machine doesn't seem to work often so be prepared to pay in cash.

The hotel is good ,friendly and very clean. Good price . Almost near everything in Stone town. you can go walking to any landmark in stone town from this hotel. Very near to Forodhani gardens. Beautiful breakfast. But you cant reach the hotel door by taxi because it's located in a very narrow street. Few drivers know how to go there... More

After a day of 4 flights, we were relieved to find Asmini Palace. On the northern edge of Stone Town, we had a very pleasant stay for just one night. The staff was very friendly but also casual (in a good way). We book transfer from the airport to Asmini and were pleased with the driver. Once we arrived, the... More

Had a very good experience staying at this hotel. The main advantage is that it is near to the seaport so as soon as you get down from the ferry you can staraight away walk to the hotel without having to book a cab. Rooms are good with average amenities. But so are the rates. The breakfast is good but... More
