The welcome is undeniably friendly and the guiding and driving throughout our 5 nights here was extremely good, with excellent sightings of wild dogs, lions and jackal. Our tent was as one would expect with a bush camp. Although there was no power the light from the hurricane lamps and candles was more than sufficient. The food was generally quite... More

Lake Manze in Selous was the 2nd camp we stayed at during our 16 day safari. During the wet periods, I would encourage travellers to travel by plane. We were driven by car and had to go by road as the short cut from Mkumi was impassable. Including a stop for lunch it took us over 6 hours to get... More

We stayed for five nights at Lake Manze, in January, so I thought I’d write a review as quickly as possible. We had an excellent time at Lake Manze, where the game viewing was awesome. The tents at Lake Manze are exactly how one would envisage them to be. They are roomy, with exceptionally comfortable beds, and en suite shower... More

The moment you board the small plane to The Selous you know you are in for a thrilling experience as the city streets of Dar es Salaam fade into Tanzanian bush below. Was warmly greeted by the Lake Manze staff upon stepping off the plane onto the dirt runway. On the drive to camp encountered a plethora of wildlife. Manze... More

5 days of incredible safaris! Guide and driver-Huruan and Abuu were exceptional and aimed to please! Staff at camp did as well! Tents are very comfortable-clean with outdoor toilet and shower (part of tent and private.) no electricity so hot water and a small oscillating fan are solar powered. Tents all have a porch with view of lake where you... More

Fantastic game drive guides took us right next to a sleeping lion family, then to a hyena and a pack of wild dogs. Elephants not only romped right through the camp, one of them decided to sleep just 2 meters from our tent. He pissed and passed dung, then snored merrily (considerably louder than my wife). for a couple of... More

[Room] When I got to my tent, I found a bath towel on the bed neatly folded into a swan. I removed it to realise it was wet. It had left a wet spot on the sheet. Then I noticed some trash (from previous guest?) left in the trash basket. The tent was basic and by no means luxurious. There was... More

I spent three nights at Lake Manze Tented Camp in September 2014 as part of a trip to the Southern National Parks/Game Reserves in Tanzania, Selous and Ruaha. Lake Manze Camp is a great base for a truly fantastic safari experience in Selous, the largest Game Reserve in Africa. No pretensions here – if you need luxury look elsewhere, but... More

i have been travelling to African for in excess of 20 years and never have I had the misfortune of staying at such a badly run camp. Generally the guides and drivers know their stuff. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the manager, who seem to be on a bit of a jolly. The food was without doubt the... More

I stayed several nights in last September. The placed is visited by many tourists who came straight from Zanzibar just for 1 or 2 nights. So if you have traveled several times on safari or you are very interested on every kind of wildlife (not only big lions and elephants) this is not the best place for you. I had... More
