My wise, my kids and I spend three days in Ruaha Hilltop Lodge in Sep 2014. The place is located remotely in the Bush, on the hill just above the Ruaha reserve and planes. The place is so unique. The restaurant and food and services is so great. The staff is very courteous. The sunsets and sunrises from the cabins... More

A great place to stay, particularly if you are coming by road from Iringa because it really shortens the trip rather than staying inside the park. if you are lucky enough to be there with the owner Alban you will have added enjoyment. He is a wonderful and dedicated host.

We stayed there last year for 5 days with our young children and my (nearly 70) parents. The accommodation and service was good but simple. They have cottages spread on the hill above the restaurant and parking area. The view is really great at sunset. The rooms are basic but clean, with hot showers and electricity only for a few... I stayed here for two nights in July. The good: the location and the view! It was literally a breathtaking view and the lodge is a short drive from Ruaha National Park. The staff is eager to please, although they were a bit young and unprofessional. The bad: the wind, the bathroom and, in my case, large groups. The wind... More

Spent 2 nights there. Rooms are actually individual, well-spaced cabins, allowing a lot of privacy with beautiful views of the valley below from your own private front porch. Very comfortable, not ostentatious; it doesn't need to be...the views provide that. So don't expect a 5 star hotel, but a more down-to-earth comfort. It was exactly what I wanted as part... More

Such a beautifully located place! If you are planning on going here I definately recommend it. There was lots of nice food. Electricity is only on between 7-10 but whilst your there you probably wont be using it because you'll be out all day anyway so that shouldn't be a major issue. The views of the national park are lovely... More

Very Nice place to stay and vriendly staf. The food was good and enough. The room is simple also the bathroom but clean. You can't compare this Lodge with the lodge in the park especially you have the look at the price also you are in africa. We had a very Nice stay in this Lodge.

We stayed for three nights at this "lodge". The cottages are very old and the decor is faded and awful. The bathrooms are a real nightmare; dirty, with broken furniture and very cramped. Our shower did not work so we complained to the staff; we got another cottage the next day but apart from the fact that the shower was... More

Although it's a bit far from the parc entrance (one contributor wrote 15 min, actually it's 45!), it's a marvellous place. I spent 4 nights there, the management is perfect and the staff very nice, the food is excellent (I wonder where all the different vegetables are fruits come from!!), the bungalows are very pretty, comfortable. Compared to other lodges... More
