Tandala Tented Camp is situated 3-4 kms outside the gate to Ruaha National Park. It's in the Reserve Area surrounding the park and since there are no fences and the animals are flexible you can actually choose to just stay in the camp and let the animals come to you apposed to going on safari. The tents are built on... More

What a gem! We stayed here for our honeymoon in January 2015 and absolutely loved it. We had been looking for a good-priced safari lodge that still felt as nice as the higher-end lodges in and around the Serengeti. After A LOT of research, we found Ruaha - a huge and incredibly biodiverse national park in Tanzania that has as... More

Can't really say more than excellent, couldn't even find anything to say could be improved as the owners who live on camp have everything thought of. We loved our stay and the extra added "night drive in search of an unknown animal" that turned out to be a small deer! Would love to stay again and have told my brother... More

This is a wonderful place to stay. We had only two nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. First class dinners served in the open, under the stars, by hurrican lamplight surrounded by noises of an African night - sitting comfortably in the lounge watching the activity at the water hole which was never dull - being looked... Accomodation nice, breakfast and diner good in open air, lunchboxes during game drives were good. BUT the lunchbox we got upon departure to the next camp was TERRIBLE. Pity to ruin the overall excellent stay.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at this camp. John made us feel at home from our arrival. All staff are very motivated and friendly. Great food, great choice of drinks and wine. From the bar, you see every evening the elephants, kudu, impalas entering the camp to drink at the waterhole. I hd a Bushnell camera trap... More

We stayed here for 4 nights of our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. We couldn't have asked for more. Dionysia made us feel incredibly welcome and looked after us attentively. The tented accommodation is excellent with beautiful balconies to sit and watch the wildlife from. And the wildlife really does come right into camp! We saw giraffe and elephants wandering... More

Tandala is the best of the best from all camps in Ruaha. We have visited many camps as we visit Ruaha National Park often. The camp has a great vibe, wildlife around the camp by the waterhole almost all the time, We get to see so many elephants and kudus sitting at the bar. I highly recommend this camp to... More

A fantastic family run lodge. We were travelling with 3 kids under 6 years- one of 6 months and this was the perfect place. The owners will go out of their way to look after you. The Maasai guards make sure that the kids can wander around freely but dint get into any danger. The pool offers the kids (and... More

We were traveling with our four kids in Tanzania. We got two tents and stayed for the weeked. At night the sounds are AMAZING! The watering hole was a huge benefit to have! Food was delicious! Service was friendly and genuine! Our day game drive was great! We saw leopards, giraffes, elephants, lions and SOOO much more! I would definitely... More
