I trully loverly hotel, Makes you feel like your are really in Switzerland. The food is good and the rooms are clean and pleasant. The view is really wonderful as you look on to the mountains. The only problem is the government road up to the hotel. Its full of potholes and a normal car strugles but its not imposible... More

"Old man's beard" or tree moss only grows in unpolluted air and it's presence serves as a litmus test for purity. Whilst time may have taken its toll on this ageing estate - the abundance of tree moss speaks to other qualities. Perched high above the world famous Drakensberg Amphitheater - its truly a place of splendor. The incredible views,... More

I can write words to fault this aging resort however many more words to describe the beauty and serenity one is exposed to once settled in. One can only sit back and devour the handy work of God. From the grandeur of the views of the Amphitheatre to the lushness of the surrounding forest of the resort with its waterfalls.... More

We loved every minute of our visits to LSH the past Christmas Holidays. The view on the Amphitheatre from their patio is the best in the world. The food, the service the cocktails and the friendly staff. Evenings we used to go the Coyote Cafe at their entrance. Magnificent! A full of flavour menu at value prices. On Christmas night,... More

Sadly the hotel element is now closed - mainly due to the fall off in business caused by the condition of the road through to Harrismith. The self-catering chalets, the grounds and the views are however very special and the staff are welcoming and helpful. Two pools with loungers welcome you after some strenuous hiking along the many trails in... More

Spent 2 nights in self-catering unit recently. It was clean and well maintained. The location is breathtaking. The bar area is wonderful and cozy and with some cold weather one gets stuck there playing pool and enjoying warming drinks. The staff are friendly and efficient ..... Charlie the hotel dog is sooo awesome! Coyote Blue Restaurant at the entrance is... More

We drove between Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg on the more scenic R74 route on Friday, 21 September and stopped at Coyote Blue for lunch. After three weeks in Tanzania, Zanzibar and then SA, I can only say that the meal we both enjoyed at COYOTE BLUE was exquisite; mine - baked trout with a side of roast vegetables and the most... It is such a pitty that the roadworks has not been completed and that the condition of the road withholds people from getting to thid gem of the Drakensberg. The resort is beautiful and the location is picture perfect! We stayed in the self catering units - service to the units was good. Well worth driving on the highway to... More

Little Switzerland advertises itself as a luxury 5 star apartment in the heart of Drakensberg, however, it is at best a 3 star. Rooms are old are mostly dirty. The bathroom was dull and smelly. The lounge area is small and families will struggle to get everyone in to relax near the fire and watch a movie. The views and... More
