For a relative newcomer to Polo, Franshoek Polo School offered invaluable guidance and highly tailored lessons that instantly gave me more confidence! Rod is a fantastic teacher and keeps the lessons both fun and challenging! You can't beat the beautiful setting and Tracey and Christian were great hosts, with homemade meals to look forward to...not to mention packed picnic lunches... More

I had the good fortune to spend over 1 week at Franshoek.. The accommodation was unique and very comfortable, the hosts charming and attentive and the coach, Rod, outstanding. I was looking for a new polo experience and now, having had polo farms stays on every continent, I can say that Franshoek was equal to them all. Foremost it was... More

Room and amenities: The rooms are ideal for the Summer and I visited in Winter. However, the hosts - Tracey and Christian, made every effort to make sure that I was warm enough. They provided an electric blanket, hot water bottles, a heater and many blankets so I managed to survive the icy night temperatures which miraculously transformed into gorgeous... More

..and it was worth it. I am a riding novice/beginner and was able to play an instructional chukka almost effortless due to the patient guidance of Rod, the polo pro. He is also a braai master and together with Tracey they cooked great meals for us. My favourite was the beetroot salad. We enjoyed the laid back and personal atmosphere... More

Our group of five stayed for two weeks in February 2015 and had an incredible time. I was pleasantly surprised to find such fantastic accommodation so far out in what is essentially the middle of nowhere. The valley is absolutely stunning with mountains on all sides and caves to explore just a short walk away. Great food was served three... More

Just returned from a fabulous fortnight at Franshoek. It was a wonderful experience that will stay with me from the breathtaking scenery to the excellent polo coaching and of course the fantastic and colourful characters. The accomodation couldn't have been better with all 5 of us accommodated in our own double room with ensuite. We're all still talking about the... More

A fantastic trip to a beautiful place to play some excellent polo. Everything from the accommodation to the standard of horses and instruction, the food and the company was first rate, and I had an excellent time. Along with the polo I enjoyed some excellent hikes up into the mountains, fishing for Bass in the lakes, and just relaxing by... More
