An easy drive from Marrakech.Very traditional clean & comfortable hotel. Excellent staff. We enjoyed the breakfasts & a good dinner one night. Quiet location just outside the village. Plenty of cheap basic food in local cafes. Path to Toubkal 50m up the road 2hr walk to the sanctuary with lunch. Wonderful! We then went thro' pass to Taroudant. What a... More

We only stayed two days in Imlil and Dar Assarou. We would have liked to have been able to stay much longer. The hotel is very good, very friendly service and expert advise on what routes to hike. Imlil is an interesting but busy village, However, the hotel is just far enough away from the centre to be in quiet... More

I was given the room I selected on the website. It's a corner room facing an apple orchard towards the street with a view of a barren hill. The room is a bit smallish and the TV set is high up on the wall, making viewing a strain on the neck. There are a number of birds flitting and chirping... More

Unfortunately our stay at Dar Assarou was very brief, we arrived very late because of the weather which had caused a landslide on the road from Marakech. The following morning we had to leave after a quick breakfast to start our Toubkal trek. We would have liked to have enjoyed more of their hospitality, the place was very clean and... More

An excellent place to stay. A little above the busy part of the village meaning it was easy to park the rental car and we were able to leave it there whilst on the mountain. The room was very comfy and clean, plenty of hot water for the shower, lovely log burner stove in the lounge, but the thing that... More

A truly excellent riad, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Friendly, welcoming staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. We came in February and it does get cold at night, we were given a fire for our room and also provided with extra blankets if we needed them. The food was excellent, probably the best tagine I've ever had. Breakfast... More

We spent 4 nights at Dar Assarou. Everything was perfect for our stay. This is a great place for families, travellers, back packers alike with its assortment of rooms, dorms, etc. Something to suit everyone. We ate here on 3 ocassions - every meal was wonderfully coooked and presented. Plentiful and tasty. The staff at the Dar are friendly and... More

We stayed here for one night as part of an organised tour of the Atlas mountains. We were expecting something basic but were pleasantly surprised to find lovely comfortable ensuite rooms. There are more basic rooms for backpackers and children - but ours were lovely

We stayed here prior to trekking for a few days in the Toubkal region and would highly recommend this guesthouse if you are looking to do the same. We arrived at the guest house reasonably late but were greeted by very friendly staff. The room we had was a good size, with an ensuite bathroom and hot shower. The guesthouse... More

We stayed at Dar Assarou in the small village of Imlil prior to a trek up Toubkal. It is ideally located for a stay either prior to or following this hike. The owner Mustapha welcomed us when we arrived and showed us where we could park our hire car just down the road in a secure location. Our room was... More
