After reading some of the negative reviews I felt that it would be correct to write a positive one. We stayed at the hotel from Jan 2 auntil Jan 16 2006, and had chosen this hotel for my partners 50 th birthday. We arrived in the pouring rain after the rigours of a gruelling flight: first impressions were not brilliant, you can eat here, drink there etc, not exactly welcoming. However on being shown to our room things improved rapidly.
We found the staff friendly and efficient, drinks at the bar appeared to be unrationed and of good quality, I especially enjoyed the rum punches. Table service was at times a little slow but so- what this was a holiday.
For my partners birhday we used the tree-tops restaurant which we found very good and not unduly expensive, the lobster dinner if anything was too large, seven courses excellently presented. The south african wines available were also reasonably priced for an hotel.
