The food was very disappointing, I've had better food in a cheap pub chain. The presentation was poor too, no care or pride of the mediocre food being served. The staff were friendly and the ambience was fine. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go back or recommend it for dining.

Only popped in one lunchtime for some lunch, lovely people, setting, decor. Ordered off the main menu, arrived quickly and the food was brilliant, very well made. Wanted to stay there all afternoon, will definitely be back! Prices very reasonable too.

Need I say more! Was good to catch up with Kelvin after many years, and really pleasing to see what a terrific job you're doing (after only a few months running the Collyweston Slater) to really establish it as a great place to eat, drink and stay. The beers were very well kept and the lovely freshly home cooked food... More

My wife and I stayed there for one night in Feb 2014. Lovely room, very friendly welcome, superb food and the staff were excellent. We received a very warm welcome, and we just loved the place from start to finish. I would recommend this place every time!

We stayed one night and were very impressed with the value for money offered. We stayed in herrod room which included a huge roll top bath, it was overlooking the main road but this didn't bother us as the noise was minimal and didn't stop us sleeping. The bed was very comfortable in fact we found it so comfortable we... More

I have eaten here twice in the past week, while travelling on business. Having spent around 200 days away from home in the past twelve months, I have eaten my way through the menu of the big chains! It's nice therefore to find something a little different. On the first occasion I ate here, I had the Gammon, with chips... More

We stayed here for one night during January, the room (Harrod) was faultless, beautifully decorated, a large freestanding bath. Even though the room overlooked the main road through collyweston there was no traffic noise at all. Breakfast was very good. We chose what time we preferred to eat and was offered a good choice of breakfast food. We also dined... More

Feel compelled to write a review, having read how others think the Slater serves great food. We had a Sunday Roast lunch some months ago and it was dire. Beef the consistency of shoe leather, watery tasteless mashed potatoes, all veg so overcooked could have been eaten with a straw blindfold with no clue what you were eating, gravy the... More
