Just stayed there for a hockey weekend with kids. I think we had 90% of the hotel. They were excellent with the kids letting them play manhunt. Also in giving out many stories of the haunted hotel. Didn't see any ghosts but heard they are nice ones! Rooms were huge, clean and room service excellent. Only complaint was breakfast was... More

Stayed 1 night for the NYS State HS Hockey Championships. Part of a large group, many families. Another team stayed the same night. Free parking lot right outside the side door which was convenient and rare to find in an urban hotel. Easy to find from the NYS Thruway. Turn of the century, clearly formerly a very high end place.... More

This hotel looks like it used to be the grandest place around, but it doesn't seem to have recovered from tough times. That said, it's still a nice place to stay whilst in Utica. I'd stay again if I was in Utica.

This turn of the 20th century hotel is of the grand old style. The rooms were all completely refurbed by making two old rooms into one great single. Really nice bathrooms. Great lobby, very good staff. Must see, must stay.

Visiting family for Christmas and chose the Hotel Utica over some national chains. We couldn't have been happier. Not a 5 Star hotel but old school character to spare. Stunning lobby and mezzanine that was all done up for the holidays. We took a spacious suite. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Very reasonably priced. We'll be back!

We were invited to participate in exhibition 'hockey' games in Utica, New York and this hotel was highly recommended. The price was very reasonable and the hotel rooms were very large and spacious; plus only 2 blocks away from the arena. The continental breakfast was awesome and included in the price of the hotel! The staff was very friendly and... More

Well we like B & B's and character hotels, so rather than stop by the usual roadside chains, we ventured into Utica to this grande old hotel. We were not sure what we would get - very mixed reviews. But I love vintage and shabby chic, so we gave it a try. Lovely old fixtures - tho some might say... More

We are so glad we read the reviews on this hotel before we settled for the same old highway options. This is a grand old hotel done to perfection. My favorite part was that between time we registered, parked our car and got to our room (10 minutes?) someone ran up to our room and turned on lights and turned... More

This is an historic hotel in downtown Utica, NY. The lobby is breath-taking and we are anxious to try Happy Hour in the bar. The wrap around second floor balcony features the tops of the marble columns and a window so you can look into the bar area and down into the lobby. The hotel has been carefully and lovingly... More

Great old hotel with a very friendly staff. Room was clean and charming. Continental breakfast was fine, but I would implore anyone visiting Utica to head down the street for a breakfast of Italian pastries. In fact, spend all of your meals at some of the great, local, non-chain restaurants where you will get to enjoy unique Utica cuisine. The... More
