Driving along the NYS Thruway or in an Amtrack train you can see the top floors of the Hotel Utica. Make sure you take the time to spend at least a night or two. From the moment you enter this grand hotel, you feel special. You are transported to a time gone by. So many famous people have stayed here.... More

We stayed at the Hotel Utica on Saturday, June 28, on our trip from Michigan to Connecticut. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has lots of potential but, it hasn't aged gracefully. The entry to the hotel has the potential to be breath-taking. However, it's not been updated and signs of wear & tear abound. Our room... More

We came in from out of town for a wedding. The check-in is one of the most important parts of a guest's experiences and ours set a real nice tone for our stay. Were just got in from an all night drive from down south and were hoping to get an early check in since there was an event that... More

we arrived friday June 2oth at 2 pm.. It took 30 min to check in with one person in line ahead of us. There was only 1 lady at the desk, and besides checking people in, she was answering the phones etc...FINALLY checked into our room, then left.. returned to change for dinner and the AC didnt work. They upgraded... More

Found this hotel by mistake but glad I did. I have stayed there twice. Great experiences both times. Looks of interesting history on the hotel. The staff is very friendly. The hotel is definitely not new as it was built in the early 1900's.

It's a shame that the city of Utica flounders economically, and so perhaps it's understandable then that the iconic Hotel Utica sort of exemplifies the sufferings and failings of the city itself, albeit while still charging above market rates. We stayed in a suite, granted a large room, furnished with disheveled, old chairs, couches and decorations you'd find at your... More

I love this hotel. It's grand, it's old, it's amazingly well maintained. The room we had was spacious (6th floor), impeccably clean, perfectly isolated against street noise, and offered amenities like a playstation and a coffee maker. The king size bed was just right, the pillows have seen better times. The TV was a bit dated (no flat-screen), and I... More

This is now our favorite hotel in Utica. It was built in 1912 and has now been restored. Not the basic 'cookie cutter' box hotel. Walk into the lobby and be transported back to the elegance ...the chandeliers, the high ceilings, the attention to the details in the restoration all combine to a vision of old-world elegance. Check in easy... More

Tough rating because based on the night clerk and our room, I would rate this place a 4-5. However, the breakfast, which is included in the price of the room, was beyond bad. We went down for breakfast around 9 am (breakfast was served from 7:30 -10:30). The breakfast room was trashed. The tables were not cleared, there was food... More

Just stayed there for a hockey weekend with kids. I think we had 90% of the hotel. They were excellent with the kids letting them play manhunt. Also in giving out many stories of the haunted hotel. Didn't see any ghosts but heard they are nice ones! Rooms were huge, clean and room service excellent. Only complaint was breakfast was... More
