Nice place, very large rooms and clean. Confusion at check in, couldnt get in our room until 6pm since the cleaning staff were not done yet, hotel was sold out the night before. Not alot of nicer hotels in Utica, paid $99.00 with a AAA discount and overall was very pleased with our 1 night stay. more

All the reviews that describe the beautifully renovated Utica Hotel are true. It is a lovely gem! We also recommend dinner at the hotel's 1912 restaurant, too--it's fabulous! more

Originally built in 1912, this grand hotel fell on hard times and had to close in 1972. After spending millions of dollars to painstakingly refurbish this historic hotel, it reopened in 2001. This roaring 20s hotel combines old world charm and is steeped in history. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt campaigned here in the 1920s, jazz... more

In NYC, this hotel would've been four times the price. Ornate lobby. Nice room. I'd go back if I'm ever in Utica again. more

We stayed at this hotel with our daughter for a college visit. The outside was fairly non-descript, but the inside was absolutely beautiful. You could see the place was burnished with history, and there were photos and other artifacts displayed to prove it. Judy Garland sang here? I believe it! Our room was HUGE- we all said it was the... more

As stated in other reviews the hotel is a beautiful turn of the century classic that has been reasonably restored to good condition. The lobby is grand and the rooms are nice but the good things stop there. Unfortunately the hotel has earned its two star rating due to lack of, or poor, service and a lack of facilities. I... more

I was looking for a decent hotel within a short drive of the Turning Stone Casino Resort located off Exit 33 on Interstate 90, but I wanted to stay in "something different" than your standard motel / hotel. The City of Utica is located at Exit 31 on NY Interstate 90, about 10-15 minutes drive from the Turning Stone Casino.... more

This grouping of "Historic Hotels of America" is always appealing but few of them are affordable for wife and self. Hotel Utica happens to be one of the affordable ones and a real beauty into the bargain. The exterior is a bit of a falsefront hodgepodge--due in large part to the demolition of surrounding, masking structures--but inside, the two-storied lobby... more

We stayed in a total of 8 hotels during our most recent trip. This by far will be the shining star of our stays. The "Hotel Utica/ Clarion Collection Utica" was built in 1912. When you first arrive it can be tricky to find. After check in we quickly figured out this is a historical landmark. I believe this was... more

The Hotel Utica was an exceptionally beautiful old hotel. For thoese who would prefer some elegance and charm, I can't recommend this place enough. The hotel is experiencing very difficult economic times right now since Utica is hurting so badly, but this did not affect our stay in the least bit. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is... more
