this agriturismo is conveniently located for visiting sienna and the chianti country, but it's chief charm is its owners, Fortunato and Gisella. They are welcoming and very interesting. Fortunato's family has owned the property for centuries and he loves to share the family stories and show guests the wine cellar. Beautiful views, roomy apartments, a pool, and everything you could... More

Spent 6 days here in June 2014 with my wife and two teenage boys. The rooms are great, the location is central to most of the Tuscany hill towns. You do need a car. The hosts, Fortunato and Gisella, make you feel at home. The views are incredible. WiFi worked well and the wine they sell is excellent. If time... More

First off, there were SO many choices on agriturismos...literally 50 contacted me once i showed interest. Fortunato & Giselle were not only the nicest and warmest proprietors of ANY place I have stayed, they were sincerely concerned I had everything I needed (adapter for electric stuff, internet signal, where to eat, tour of the grounds..everything!) I sat on the wall... More

We stayed for over a week at the Borgo Rapale and loved it. Fortunato and Gisella were so warm, helpful and welcoming and tried to make everything perfect for us. Our room was quite large and nicely furnished, but the best thing about Borgo Rapale is the quiet, beautiful location. We took several walks around the small hamlet of Rapale... More

This was our third time to stay at Borgo Rapale over the last nine years, so obviously we love it there! This time we travelled with 2 couples, whereas previously we had travelled with our 3 children. It is a perfect place to stay to appreciate the Tuscan countryside, while also allowing day trips to Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Cortona... More

I travelled to Borgo Rapale with a watercolour workshop. we had a 5star experience. Our host Gisella and Fortunato made our stay very special. It is a perfect place to get away from it all! One hour from Florence, slip back in time, I could return today even though it is getting cold there. It would still be magical.

My second stay with Gisella and Fortunato. Absolutely a no brainer. Warm service, wonderful settings and perfect facilities. We will come back for sure. Thank Gisella & Fortunato. Best wishes, Beata & Rolf from Switzerland

Last year we stayed at Borgo Rapale for two weeks, and just loved it so much we booked again this year. There are many return visitors, and it becomes like "going home". Gisella and Fortunato are the most wonderful hosts, so accomodating and helpful. One of our suitcases was lost in Amsterdam airport, it took 6 days to finally arrive... More

The best you can imagine. A 500 years-old cottage or small village on a hilltop with 9 inhabitants, no one is younger, than 75. Quiet, breezy place on the Chianti Route. Such hilltops are very convenient in Tuscany, you can sleep with no airco and open windows. No noise at all. 24 km far from Siena. Every apartments are very... More
