Stayed one night to visit my daughter and watch Syracuse basketball game. Skyler was a short, convenient walk to campus, dining and Dome. Rooms are very nice, dormered, clean and interesting, updated design. Breakfast is not expansive, but hits the spot. Rates about $200/night, but worth the comfort, convenience, style and free parking/access. Very much enjoyed the stay.

Nice staff, well appointed, great location, nice breakfast. However, the soundproofing is AWFUL. If you are on the first floor, you hear absolutely everything above you. And if someone is in the hall, you hear it all (by the way, Spencer? Next time please answer your door when your friends are knocking. The constant "knock, knock, Spencer?!?!" was awful.) Really... I ended up staying at the Hotel Skyler when winter storm Jonas blew into New York and left me stranded for an extra night in Syracuse. I will say, though I liked my other hotel, I sort of wish I stayed here both nights. This unique hotel apparently used to be a synagogue which I think is pretty cool. It... More

They've done a great job with this place. Nicely appointed spaces in all parts of the property. Modern and comfortable. Rooms were very nice. Not huge, but really efficient. This would be one of the better business trip hotels that I've been to. Staff was super. Also very cool how they've done it all with a responsible environmental footprint. Kudos.

Spacious rooms, super cool design, excellent breakfast, excellent snack/drink shop in the lobby, cheap price, eco-friendly, great location, free WiFi...can't say enough good things. This will be the only hotel I ever stay at in Syracuse.

Just returned from my sixth or seventh stay at the Hotel Skyler. It is my Go To hotel for visiting my SU student, just down the hill from the main campus. Love the spacious, quiet rooms, as well as the whole design of the hotel, which was formerly a synagogue. Doesn't feel "cookie cutter" at all. They also provide a... More

We loved the hotel. The exterior is a former synagogue from the last century, the reception area has stain glass from a former church, and over the fireplace is a beautiful painting of a Native American. It all gives the hotel an unusual and wonderful ambience.

Very poor insulation between floors and you will hear everything (people walking above). If you ae on the first floor In the morning you will hear breakfast setup as well again because the rooms are poorly insulated. There is also no water pressure for showers (something about the hotel being green). Good breakfast, inexpensive if you need to be by... More

My teenage son and I spent just one night at the hotel, but we were very pleased. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was much better than at chain hotels in this price range. The staff were also very accommodating in letting us leave our car parked in their front lot for the whole morning after... More

Expensive for an average hotel. $223. I think it is pretty neat that they converted a temple to a hotel. Once you get past that cool factor, it is a pretty average hotel. It is nicely designed. It is clean, and neat. The service is fine, with students (probably) from Syracuse University attending the front desk. The breakfast was fine,... More
