We stayed here two nights and enjoyed the lovely hose and it's convenient location. Friendly owners/managers! Our room was tidy, clean and had antique furniture. Only bad thing was that the air con was noisy in our room (ground floor to the back) and the temperature was too low (it was a sign asking not to adjust it, but the... More

This beautifully restored historic inn features spacious, antique-filled rooms, a charming display of maps and artifacts, and a delectable breakfast. The location is convenient to shopping and restaurants. Ask about off-season prices. Highly recommended!

Recently visited 1708 House just as the summer season is ramping up. My room was Room A and it was delightful; a 2nd floor room with King Bed, large tub, two closets (one a large walk-in connected to both the bedroom and bath). There were also a couple comfy chairs just in front of the tv and a desk/chair for... More

We loved the location of this beautiful Inn. You can walk to everything. Welcoming staff and an easy going atmosphere. Plenty of spaces to relax and unwind indoors and outdoors. The house is beautifully restored and very comfortable. The beach pass is a plus and plenty of parking. We found no reason to give less than a 5 rating on... More

Great place to stay anytime but especially out of season (Season is Memorial Day - Labor Day) when there is no minimum stay on weekends and prices are much lower. Comfortable rooms, wonderful breakfast and evening wine/snacks, and very friendly management. Children only in the cottages.

We stayed at the 1708 House for two nights in June 2014 and everything was perfect. The location of this B&B cannot be beat, literally steps away from the shops & restaurants of downtown Southampton, I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Coopers Beach is a very short (& beautiful) drive away and having the beach pass made it 1000x times better.... More

Stayed for two nights in 1708 House at the end of May. It is right in the town of Southampton which is important if traveling by rail. An easy walk from the train station. The house is fabulous and the staff were very helpful. Room 5 is a traditional room and warm and cosy. The breakfast was wonderful and the... More

We spent five nights at 1708 House in April and were very well looked after. The rates were very reasonable and the cottage we stayed in was spacious: the two bedrooms and living area were a godsend when putting our baby to sleep on an evening. Wifi was good, and the cottage was well maintained and comfortable. The house itself... More

Wonderful and historic inn with old world charm and modern day hospitality. Beautiful room and conveniently located in town close to shops and restaurants. A must stay if you are in the area and considering a b&b/inn.
