I had the opportunity to stay at the 1708 Inn for three nights from April 9 - 12, 2015. The staff/owners were excellent. After I mentioned that I like to walk/run every day they mapped out a great route for me whereby I was able to see much of Southampton. The following day they had another route ready for me.... I ended up staying here the beginning of February for 2 nights (initially 1) for work and it was a great little stay! Speaking to the owner was really cool after eating breakfast my first morning there. Everything was super clean even though I was the only guest the first night. I am hoping to stay there again, sans bitter... More

This place is great for a weekend getaway. The rooms are very clean, the breakfast is great. The host was very gracious and helpful. The location is in the heart of town, very close to everything and by route 27 which takes you everywhere

Just spent the most wonderful weekend at this absolutely magnificent B&B. From the superb antique furnishings to the glorious spacious rooms with all the amenities you could want, I would totally recommend this place. Their breakfasts are served with silver ware on china and are totally delicious. The house is located right on the main street near the shops and... More

Loved the little birthday treat they left for my husband upon our arrival. The many sitting areas with fireplaces were a plus during a wet, wintry visit. There was a musty smell in the annex that reminds us how old the house is!

I wish I could give The 1708 House six stars. If I had to use one word to describe the exoerience it would be gracious with a capital G. I've been to five star hotels where they pretended to be gracious but the staff of The 1708 House really is. I booked a week there for some much needed R&R... More

This was our second visit to the 1708 House, and as perfect this time as it was the last. The B&B is inviting, comfortable, accommodating and the staff are friendly and non-intrusive. The breakfast is made to order eggs and a full brunch selection of bagels, fruit, salmon and yoghurt; delicious! The evening wine and cheese spread adds to the... More

We stayed here two nights and enjoyed the lovely hose and it's convenient location. Friendly owners/managers! Our room was tidy, clean and had antique furniture. Only bad thing was that the air con was noisy in our room (ground floor to the back) and the temperature was too low (it was a sign asking not to adjust it, but the... More

This beautifully restored historic inn features spacious, antique-filled rooms, a charming display of maps and artifacts, and a delectable breakfast. The location is convenient to shopping and restaurants. Ask about off-season prices. Highly recommended!

Recently visited 1708 House just as the summer season is ramping up. My room was Room A and it was delightful; a 2nd floor room with King Bed, large tub, two closets (one a large walk-in connected to both the bedroom and bath). There were also a couple comfy chairs just in front of the tv and a desk/chair for... More
