This hotel had all the hallmarks of a really lovely place to stay, however the years have caught up with it and it is now run down and sad. The owners or management seems to have lost enthusiasm for the place and the service experience whilst acceptable is hardly anything to rave about.

My wife and I had made the trip for my birthday, and what a treat it was. This was my first trip to this beautiful town and I wasn't really sure what to expect. We were referred to the Latch by a friend and for right around $500 a night, we were pleased to get every bit of what we... More

I swear that our room smelled like cat piss! The towels were so cheap fuzz from them would stay on my face after drying my face with a hand towel. And then they add a 10% "facilities fee" on top of the exorbitant room fees! Sure, it is in a great location. But this place is charging five star prices... More

I had read some of the negative reviews and was a little skeptical, but my husband and I booked anyway and had such a great time that we booked July 4th weekend and enjoyed it all over again. No, this is NOT a posh five-star resort with high thread count sheets and marble floors, but it was quiet and romantic... More

My wife and I stayed at the Village Latch Inn with my daughter last weekend. We have been visiting the Village Latch Inn for about a month plus now and the property, staff, rooms and the location of the hotel is absolutely perfect. Every person at the hotel that we encountered is personable; they actually care about their guests and... More

What a disappointment! This place was so run down! For 700.00 / night and a 3 night minimum, I was expecting a charming Hamptons Inn experience, instead I got a room with wall to wall carpeting that smelled of mildew, a medical grade, flesh colored shower curtain with bathroom fixtures from the 1970s, and bath products akin to a bar... the Latch is a hidden gem right in the middle of Southampton. We made a last minute reservation for a King room. it felt like a fantasy. wonderful ceiling fans - didn't even turn on the air conditioners - and there were two in the room. beamed ceilings, eclectic decor - and the best possible location one could hope for.... We returned this year and were very pleased with our weekend stay. The grounds at the Latch are meticulously maintained and absolutely gorgeous. I noticed numerous improvements around the hotel and in our room ( btw, our room was clean, charming, fresh and very country like ). The front desk staff remembered us from our last visit and they treated... More

I wanted to love this place, i really did, so I'll be really fair in this review. First the inn was very eclectic. It's not your run of the mill inn . It's filled with antiques and what not. The grounds are spacious . It has a tennis court and a swimming pool outside that has seen better days. The... More

Though I have traveled quite extensively over the past 10 years, this is the first time I have ever bothered to write a review…because I absolutely loved it! The rooms are unique, comfortable and clean, and the grounds are lovely. The location is great; we took a leisurely walk to the town and later on to the beach and got... More
