My company hosted a Summer Party for all it's workers + their significant others. Our planned party got washed out by the torrential rain, and the Sherwood Inn graciously accomodated 60+ people for dinner at the last minute. The servers and hosts were all gracious and polite, and it was an overall great experience! The atmosphere was wonderful and the... More

Nine of us enjoyed a truly delightful dinner at a large round table on the enclosed porch of this really delightful inn/restaurant overlooking Skaneateles Lake, the eastern-most of New York's beautiful Finger Lakes. Service was quick, accurate and friendly, basically impeccable, the menu impressive, the food delicious and the company hugely enjoyable. We met at the Inn for drinks last... More

My husband and I made a last minute decision to visit Skaneateles and dropped in on the Sherwood Inn without a reservation. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location in town is perfect. Rooms were what you would expect in an inn from the 1800's - nicely decorated, very clean but short on bathroom and closet space. Lighting... More

The Shiraz room in the Auburn House, now managed by the Sherwood Inn, did not meet our expectations. The room is on the 'ground' level of the 'back' building. When we arrived the de-humidifier was running full force and the room smelled musty. The TV was 1990's vintage.. REALLY???? No refrig, no microwave.. the flimsy fiberglass shower had a repair... We stayed two nights at the Sherwood inn. The rooms are well decorated. They leave the doors open on the unoccupied rooms during the day and each room is unique. We had lunch and dinner here. The food is very good! The Maryland crab cake appetizer is wonderful!

We stayed at the Sherwood for just one night, but it was wonderful. Room 38 is quiet, peaceful and soothing in its decor and color choice. We would have liked a King Bed, rather than a queen, but that's okay. The room was spacious, but like any older historic hotel, back then they did not place a lot of importance... More

This year's stay was a delight. Not only did we have a complimentary breakfast every morning (included in the room fee), but we got to shop the annual Curbstone Sale and eat some terrific meals. The room this year was absolutely the best one you could want. It had a very spacious sitting room with a sofa bed and TV.... More

We chose The Sherwood for our small (60 people) wedding ceremony and reception because we knew the food was wonderful and the setting beautiful. We were not disappointed!! Everyone and everything met our high standards. Meredith and Meghan, the events coordinators, were extremely helpful in the months prior to the date. They were always prompt in their replies to my... This was our third stay at the Sherwood. Probably wont go back. Our room smelled, the electricity in the bathroom didn't work and when I turned on the Jacuzzi tub one of the jets shot out and hit my leg, Staff apologized but sometimes that doesn't help when you expect better accommodations for the price. As always though, the dining... More

We had a great 2-day after going to see our daughter at Syracuse. Only 30 minutes away by car. There were running a special and we got a fancy suite, plus a $50 a day dining credit for a great price. Our suite, Room 24, was actually two rooms, plus bath: a bedroom and separate lovely sunroom with great views... More
