We visited this establishment during the town's Dickens Christmas weekend. To say that the inn was busy would be an understatement! The Sherwood Inn, along with the whole town, was fully decorated for the holiday season with many Dickens characters strolling the streets, singing in the lobby gathering area, and performing skits on the sidewalks. The entire inn is decorated... More

i was just in town for one night on business and found the Inn to be a very nice place to stay. The staff was very friendly and changed my room from the one I picked online because she thought I would enjoy it more and be more comfortable - no change in cost for the change in rooms. The... More

Sunday night dining at its best at this place. Great atmosphere! The menu choices are excellent unless you want a chicken entre...there are none, any more. The dining area is nice and warm with a band playing soft music in the tavern. You can carry on a conversation while they play. Service is top notch. The food is prepared perfect... More

Pretentious, uppity, snooty, unfriendly. overpriced, unwelcoming. Awful place, dank, dark, unpleasant smelling, staff is not at all helpful. Very poor hospitality. If you're over 60 and white, this is the place for you

We stayed in the Sherwood Inn for two nights in early October. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. For the uninitiated the Finger Lakes area is a treasure that begs exploring Last year we stayed in Geneva and this year Skaneateles and on both counts we were truly impressed with the history, food, accommodation and beauty of the... Been coming here almost annually since 1996. Lovely Inn, lovely location. Fantastic restaurant/pub, lounge. Stayed recently and noticed a few things. Bathroom grouting looking stained, tired, in an all white bathroom, stands out and brings the whole aura down. Mattress a little tired; how regularly does a hotel think they need to change/choose a mattress? A little fridge would have... More

After a few days in chain hotels we were ready for something with character and this did not disappoint. Used their open rooms policy to inspect five rooms before choosing #32 for the king sized bed. Had a nice meal and the local ale in the informal tavern side, with a view of the lake. Comfortable nights sleep. Nice breakfast... More

It's been a long time since my wife and I stayed at the Sherwood - we will not be returning. Location is great and the hotel is old and quaint. But if you want some sleep, get a room on the third floor so that creaking floorboards will not determine when and if you sleep. Stay away from the restaurant... More

We stopped here whilst on a road trip through the US and were really pleased to find they had a vacancy. We had been staying at some of the hotel chains along the interstates and the Sherwood Inn was the perfect contrast - loads of character & charm and good old-fashioned service. The building is old & historic - we... More

My wife and I stayed at the Sherwood, in room #18, for a short romantic getaway. The hotel and staff are old school and we loved it. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We also had dinner in the restaurant. My wife has celiacs and by coincidence so did our waitress. She and the chef were outstanding. The food was excellent... More
