My husband and I absolutely adore Shelter Island and La Maison Blanche is the prefetch place to stay. We have stayed several times, the rooms are warm comforting and clean. We will continue to stay here as often as we can. I highly recommend staying here.

We recently stayed for 1 night in La Maison Blanche. It was our first time travelling to Shelter Island and we didn’t quite know what to expect. La Maison Blanche is a beautiful small hotel located close to Sunset beach and Shelter Island Heights. The rooms are very clean and beautifully appointed. We were looking for a quiet relaxing getaway... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at La Maison Blanche over Valentine's Day weekend. Given the snowstorm and the fact that it was off season to begin with, it was understandably quiet. We were generously upgraded to a better room without having to ask. Kathy, the hotel manager, could not have been more welcoming, gracious and lovely. Normally we stay at... More

First I would like to say how much I love Shelter Island and how this experience will not stop me from visiting but I certainly will not be staying at La Maison Blanche the next time I stay on Shelter Island... Where to start with all that is wrong with La Maison Blanche... MANAGEMENT: completely disorganized; the day we arrived,... More

I am sorry you found yourself so disgruntled with your stay at Maison Blanche. There are a few comments you made that I take issue with: First, we have no $700.00 per night rooms- you paid $135 per night, which you received a credit for, Second, when you received your reservation confirmation it stated that the restaurant/bar was closed for... The Maison Blanche is a quaint little place to stay at. I decided to go here upon discovering a Groupon deal with my friend. It took a long time to communicate with anyone when we called prior to arriving. The heat was on full blast in our room and we had no idea how to turn it off or down.... More

At check in we were given the rules and a key, it would have been nice if we were escorted to our room and explained how to operate the heat, wifi, ect... as we could not master either. The room was neat, however the carpeting was frayed and stained. The bathroom had obvious water damage in the corners and the... More

We came up here for our 2nd anniversary (mid October). We found out when we got there that they closed their restaurant a couple weeks prior, and the bar at the hotel was only open one of the two nights we were there. None of that was explained very well on their site. However, we had a great time nonetheless.... More

We recently stayed at this hotel during off season and got a great deal on a king size suite through living social (without that deal, the room is a bit pricey). The hotel is quite lovely. quaint and charming, We stayed in Room 8, which housed a king size bed and included a large jacuzzi tub which was absolutely spotless.... More

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. The next time you come just ask the front desk receptionist for a map of the island, they are there for the asking. I hope to see you again. More

We loved this hotel, for reasons I will come on to. However, the lack of communication about what was and was not available due to the off season starting was shocking. The website communicated that the hotel had a pool and a bakery which opened daily, it stated the restaurant was open every day except Mondays. When we checked in... More

We stayed here in July 2013. This hotel was the most expensive hotel on our trip, as we must have expected staying on Shelter Island so closed to the the Hamptons. Unfortunately we did not feel we received the service or room to warrant the charge. On a positive note; The pool area was very nice and comfortable. It was... More
