Location location location. Dining with my husband at sunset while my children are supervised by staff watching a family movie....nicely done! The food was outstanding: freshly caught tuna tartar, clams and musssels, filet cooked to perfection, local produce..arugula salad with shaved parmesean and wonderful local wine. The pool provides towels and bar service. Most hotels on the East End do... More

I stayed at the Pridwin for four nights last summer. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend it, my room was clean and had an amazing view of the ocean beach front. The food at the hotel was a highlight, fresh caught seafood complemented with other locally grown flavors and wine from local vineyards :) The reception was... More

I stayed at the Pridwin Hotel last August. It was a nice ‘relaxing’ getaway from the daily grind. I stayed in the hotel’s main build which has a lot of old school charm that takes you back to a more care free time. The rooms are comfortable, but the most memorable part is the waterfront setting and the hotels location.... More

We find this hotel to be one of our favorite places to stay as a couple as well as with our kids. The food is delicious, fresh and healthy and the wine selection is always the best in local wines. The bar is a great place to listen to music and watch the sunset. Our kids can move from the... More

Because of hurricane Earl, we had to change our Labor Day travel plans at the last minute. The Pridwin is in a great location, and you can tell it probably used to be a great hotel. The guys behind the bar were great, and dinner on the deck was excellent. Unfortunately the rooms are shabby (we were in 309), as... More

Shelter Island is a dream. A place where time has stood still in the best of ways. The Pridwin Beach Hotel & Cottages has one of the most amazing settings of any small seasonal hotel on the East End. The fish served in the Dining Room is caught by the family that owns the hotel and is incredibly fresh and... More

I went to Shelter Island with my boyfriend for my birthday and stayed at the Pridwin Hotel. After Labor Day, it's off-season and the prices dropped about $60 a night for rooms in the hotel. That seemed like an okay deal so we booked it. Yes, it was off-season and yes, they were busy with hosting a wedding reception, but... More

The Pridwin is definitely not a resort. It has a great location that's it! The place reeks of mold and mildew as soon as you walk in the back door. The room assigned to us was on the first floor. The stained and dirty hallway rug and mildew smell did not prepare me for the alarming smell of mold and... More

Dear anteliza, We apologize again for your bad experience. This season was unusually wet and as you (and many people who frequent eastern long island) know, humidity is always an issue on eastern long island even during 'dry' summers. We are acutely aware of the issues with the first floor rooms. All the carpeting in each of 4 first floor... More

My husband and I paid $250 per night for a non-water view room-it was small, smelled of mildew and was inadequately air-conditioned. We asked for a fan, which helped, but none of this ventilation reached the bathroom so we opened its window and kept its door closed. We were surprised that some of the public spaces in the inn are... More
