The hotel/resort must have been very nice in the 70's but they haven't done much to it since. Pros - We stayed in a 2 room cabin (Cabin G) behind the hotel that had a lovely balcony that had a partial view of the pool and the shore and also had a gas fireplace. Breakfast was included down in the... more

Wanted to go away for long weekend, but most everything was booked on eastern Long Island, so I tried Shelter Island. Called the Pridwin, expecting the same response...no rooms available. But to my surprise, there were rooms. For the same price as a Queen room, they gave us a King room. The room was small, but that's okay. The room... more

We arrived at the hotel, the receptionist didn t even say hello at our arrival. The swimming pool was closed, the restaurant as well!!!! and of course nobody told us at the time of the booking. the receptionist didn't want to book a restaurant for us... I have never seen such a bad service. AND NO DISCOUNT was offered. I... more

They seriously gave us a shoebox for a room. Two steps from the door was the bed. The "oceanview" was blocked by a rooftop through a tiny window. My bedroom at home is bigger than this room. This room could easily have been used as a storage room rather than a hotel room. We paid over 200 a night and... more

My family and i stayed at the Pridwin for 5 days in July. The highlights were: the location, which is lovely, (if you like very quiet) and the quality of the food served (quite high). There is also a tennis camp behind the property which was good for the kids, and nice boats/kayaks, etc, on the waterfront across the street.... more

My fiancee and I recently overnighted at the Pridwin for a wedding. Bottom line-- wedding was beautiful despite the hotel, but special and beautiful sunsets do not make up for bad service, outdated decor and dirt. We knew it was an inauspicious debut when we arrived at the hotel and the loitering kitched staff joked "do you need some help... more

Went over there the past weekend with my bf. He booked the room over the phone with the hotel. We wanted to get a room with a balcony in order to get a great view for the fireworks (4 July weekend) and the person over the phone told him that they got rooms with balconies. When we got there there... more

Tip #1: Don't get there before check-in time My husband and I recently stayed at the Pridwin with another couple. We booked two of the cottages - one was recently renovated, and one was not. In the beginning, we were pretty skeptical about it, but we really wanted to stay in a room with kitchenettes. We bought lots of groceries... more

Perfectly located hotel on the beach. We stayed for a week last summer, first in a breezy corner hotel room and then a cabin. The recently renovated cabin was decorated very fun & hip. We had our own deck overlooking the pool! There are bicycles, kayaks, paddle boats, and other beach toys as well as a large pool. The hotel... more

Great old hotel that's been getting a face lift during the past couple of years. We stayed there for a week last summer and were able to move from a room to a cottage when one became available mid-week. The room was nice, a corner room with nice breezes and water views. The sunsets were amazing, right from the room.... more
