My boyfriend and I recent went for a short weekend stay at Chequit Inn. The whole place was quite quaint. Staff was very friendly. However, the place can use some updates. When we walked into our room, we quickly noticed that the room was fairly sparse. No TV, no hair dryer, and the bottle opener was a fixed opener behind... More

A charming old hotel, with a nice aspect. They warn guests on the weekend as there is a busy restaurant downstairs, but as there is no loud music, just happy people, it is fine by us. However don't think you can enjoy Sunday mornings on the front terrace overlooking the view, as the leaf blowers fire up to clear the... More

We had a hard time figuring out the rates and thought best to go on advice and stay here. The hotel staff smile and try to help but it seems that they have limits to what they can accommodate the guests. Perhaps we were just there when it was being run by kids for the summer. So many wonderful restaurants... More

I understand that going in such amazing place as Shelter Island the people are not suppose to read a review for the Hotel or B&B. It is just important to get there and enjoy the quite and contemplate the beauty of the Nature. But if happen that in the middle of your stay you'd be ask to vacant the room,... More

We rented 3 rooms at this Inn for our family for a 2 night stay. There was 1 large bottle of water in the room, no bottle opener, no cups; no TVs, no hair dryers, the fixtures are rusty, water saving shower heads that sprinkle water.....my 4 teens were a little creeped out like we were on a haunted house... Stayed at the Chequit on June 2014. Not many staying at the inn while I was there. A continental breakfast was provided. Rooms were very clean but could hear neighbor in next room and faucet did not work on sink. Location was good, close to ferry and restaurant/shops. A little overpriced

The Hamptons - and by extension Shelter Island, is a funny place. Generally you get a horrible deal for pretty lousy accommodations. This of course has to do with supply and demand. Supply is low, due to zoning and land use restrictions, and demand is high, especially during the summer. On Shelter Island, demand is a little lower, so prices... More

It's a very charming place with everything you need in a place to stay: super clean rooms, friendly staff, nice views, a restaurant/bar on site. What it doesn't have: televisions or wifi in the rooms; someone at the front desk before 8am. It's within a short walk of the North End Ferry. Walls are a little thin, so you hear... More

The Hotel is located right off the north ferry so the loccation is perfectly nestled in the heart of Shelter Island Heights. The hotel itself is rather old but very clean. The staff was friendly & accomodating which added to the old world charm that humbles you when spend any time on the island. We enjoyed the restuarant, the drinks were... More

Room was fine & clean although carpet needs replacing. We asked for a "quiet room." We had a room on the 3rd floor & were wakened off & on until 3:30 in the morning by outside noise.(Friday night) It sounded like kids who had been at the bars. We spoke to the manager the next day & she apologized &... More
