Loved our trip to Schenectady and this place made it even better. Huge room with comfortable bed, free wifi and light breakfast included. Beautiful walk into town past historic buildings. Only things missing were a fridge and decent water pressure. But they happily supplied me with an ice bucket and we didn't stay long enough for the shower to bug... More

I went to the Stockade Inn with a my cousin because she wanted to show me the historic part of Schenectady. The Stockade Inn has an interesting history as a former men's only club and in converting it into an Inn and restaurant they did a good job of maintaining the architectural character. Good Eggs Benedict for brunch.

Had the opportunity to stay at this vintage hotel called the Stockade Inn. I will say that my entry into the hotel felt ackward, I felt the registration was very cold and I had intruded on her time. The room is really nice but there is no view to speak of. We were just passing on through anyway. The breakfast... More

We stayed at the Stockade for a biking vacation in July. The staff was very nice and helpful. We only had breakfast there, which was a continental, hot coffee and tea, bagels and cereal and yogurt. The Inn is right on one of the bike trails which was very convenient and the neighborhood was quiet and quite pretty. The room... More

Under the auspices of staying in an historic hotel while we were on a college visit road trip, I decided to take a chance on this place. While the property itself is basically fine, and might have been an okay place to spend a night, it was the five police cars, fire truck, and paramedic that pulled up to the... More

The 'suite', a high-ceiling corner room with great windows on two sides, was well-carpeted, and furnished with good old stuff made of real wood and springs and upholstery -- very comfortable and well-maintained. Not pretentious. Overall it reminded me of a living room at the provincial home of a state family-court judge. The wing chairs, with a tall lamp alongside,... More

My wife and I live only minutes from the Stockade Inn and have been there several times. We decided to go for our 1st overnight and Valentines Dinner. We had a 5 star meal - 4 oz tender lobster tails & filet mignon. The cozy bar and fireplace was a perfect ending to the night before going to our beautiful... More

We recently had our wedding at the Stockade Inn in Schenectady, NY and we can't say enough about it! From the food to our stay in the bridal suite to the staff, they truly went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect! The charm and warmth was felt immediately upon entering this historic inn. Lush, sophisticated Holiday decorations were... More

We stayed in one of the suites several days before Christmas and loved the unique and historical experience. We arrived in the evening with four large suitcases in tow. When we first walked in, we realized there was no check in desk. The host greeted us and checked us in on the computer. The lounge was very lively and festive... More

A gem of a place in the historical district. I could take the stairs or the old sliding door elevator to get to my room, which was charming and surprising spacious. Bed was comfy, bathroom was lovely, and it was easy to walk to the river from there. Staff were extremely helpful too!
