We stayed at the hotel overnight recently. The building is amazing, in the historic part of Schenectady. The first floor of the hotel is gorgeous with a bar and restaurant and space for private events. Our room was ample size, good bed, clean. But a few things were lacking. When we arrived, we had no shampoo or conditioner in the... More

I stayed for two nights on business, and found the hotel perfectly acceptable, if not very inspired. The exterior is beautifully restored--an 1818 building that has served in a variety of capacities, including as a private club (the Mohawk Club, whose plaque near the door can confuse the visitor looking for the inn). There is no reception desk to speak... More

Thank you for passing on your experiences of your stay at The Stockade Inn. It is unfortunate that we have a small reception area but we try to utilize the beautiful space for the customers as much as possible and would hate to take up a large space of the hotel with a reception area. With regards to the double... More

Our 7th year staying at the Stockade Inn. We enjoy this place because of it's location and atmosphere. You won't find a workout room, but you can enjoy a walk around the historic Stockade district. This place is better for adults as opposed to families. The management and staff are very helpful and friendly. Try the brunch, have a nice... More

My wife and I held our wedding ceremony and reception at The Stockade Inn and we blocked off all of the rooms for our guests. The Stockade Inn is a gorgeous venue and has a storied history. It is set in the historic Stockade district of Schenectady that dates back to the Dutch colonial era. The rooms are fantastic and... More

Lets start with the numerous vulgar assaults from the apartment building next door to the Stockade (The Colonial Apartments). My wife and I had to listen to that when we parked in their lot. Really made me wonder if the car would be safe in that lot. Then when we got to our room a large portion of the wallpaper... More

If you are looking for a sterile, cookie cutter hotel, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for charm then here it is. Located in the historic Stockade District, this building has been in existence since 1818, so it doesn't have the ammenities found in modern hotels. There are three floors, we stayed on the top... I have a feeling that the reviews may have come from those occupying suites which I did not. Purchased my room online and it was not at all worth the $125 I paid! It should have been more like $59 per night. Room #32 that I was given was quite small, with a double bed that creaked. The bathroom was... More

Stayed here when we moved our son into Union college, very convenient. Quirky old Inn, comfortable and clean and comes with continental breakfast. It has charm, but room doors were a little weird. Stockade district is a work in progress area, kind of sketchy. Asked for extra towels, they brought up 3 extra bathmats instead? Inn has a nice restaurant,... More

We spent just one night here on our way to Lake George from DC. We thought it was a very interesting and historic section of town. The hotel itself is nice enough- clean and spacious rooms. If you're looking for luxury this isn't your place, but the building is old with a rich history, and restored beautifully. The downstairs bar... More

This charming boutique hotel/inn is a real rarity in the US, though its kind is more common in European cities. First its history should be noted: It's located in Schenectady's Stockade District, site of the original city settled by the Dutch in the 1600s. This is a beautiful historic neighborhood well preserved with numerous structures from the 18th and early... More
