My wife and I held our wedding ceremony and reception at The Stockade Inn and we blocked off all of the rooms for our guests. The Stockade Inn is a gorgeous venue and has a storied history. It is set in the historic Stockade district of Schenectady that dates back to the Dutch colonial era. The rooms are fantastic and... More

Lets start with the numerous vulgar assaults from the apartment building next door to the Stockade (The Colonial Apartments). My wife and I had to listen to that when we parked in their lot. Really made me wonder if the car would be safe in that lot. Then when we got to our room a large portion of the wallpaper... More

If you are looking for a sterile, cookie cutter hotel, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for charm then here it is. Located in the historic Stockade District, this building has been in existence since 1818, so it doesn't have the ammenities found in modern hotels. There are three floors, we stayed on the top... I have a feeling that the reviews may have come from those occupying suites which I did not. Purchased my room online and it was not at all worth the $125 I paid! It should have been more like $59 per night. Room #32 that I was given was quite small, with a double bed that creaked. The bathroom was... More

Stayed here when we moved our son into Union college, very convenient. Quirky old Inn, comfortable and clean and comes with continental breakfast. It has charm, but room doors were a little weird. Stockade district is a work in progress area, kind of sketchy. Asked for extra towels, they brought up 3 extra bathmats instead? Inn has a nice restaurant,... More

We spent just one night here on our way to Lake George from DC. We thought it was a very interesting and historic section of town. The hotel itself is nice enough- clean and spacious rooms. If you're looking for luxury this isn't your place, but the building is old with a rich history, and restored beautifully. The downstairs bar... More

This charming boutique hotel/inn is a real rarity in the US, though its kind is more common in European cities. First its history should be noted: It's located in Schenectady's Stockade District, site of the original city settled by the Dutch in the 1600s. This is a beautiful historic neighborhood well preserved with numerous structures from the 18th and early... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night and the place was really amazing. Its a very nice comfortable atmosphere when you first walk in. It's in a great convenient location. If you're looking for a night out on the town the bars are within walking distance(or you can just go to the bar they have inside which is... More

Loved our trip to Schenectady and this place made it even better. Huge room with comfortable bed, free wifi and light breakfast included. Beautiful walk into town past historic buildings. Only things missing were a fridge and decent water pressure. But they happily supplied me with an ice bucket and we didn't stay long enough for the shower to bug... More

I went to the Stockade Inn with a my cousin because she wanted to show me the historic part of Schenectady. The Stockade Inn has an interesting history as a former men's only club and in converting it into an Inn and restaurant they did a good job of maintaining the architectural character. Good Eggs Benedict for brunch.
