Rip Van Winkle is a great campground located in the Catskills - we stayed in a pull-through site and were kind of dreading it because most of them are not convenient and lack trees. Having just purchased an A-Frame pop-up camper we wanted it to be easy camping our first time out. Well no problems here. The pull-through sites are... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at RVW Campgrounds. We were also extremely lucky with the weather. Our campsite was a little small - but not a big deal. We were right next to the toilet - about 40 yards away, which made it convenient, except that at night, when we were trying to sleep, there was a bit of traffic... More

Tent camping at Rip as I write this review...this is a great place to stay with a family. We have tent camped here three weekends over the summer Memorial Day, July, and Labor Day weekends. Our first trip was near the front entrance to the campground which I found too loud and busy with traffic (there are plenty of seasonal... More

The sites are nice and private and they obviously work at making it a destination to camp at with the multiple play areas, swimming hole and pond. We unfortunately didn't have the time to stay and explore the campground but if we are in the area again we will stay again.

Very friendly staff, very clean, superior amenities you can't believe! My friends and I love camping here. Nice campers - both seasonal and tent campers! Very nice general store! I highly recommend getting meat at catskill smoke shop and pickles from the pickle barrell in town. Then come to Rips and make a feast for yourself and friends!

We camped here in August 2013. It is a beautiful campground. We stayed in a travel trailer in the Ledges area. The campground is wooded with a beautiful stream going through it. I'm very fussy when it comes to campgrounds, I want woods, privacy, friendly staff, and beautiful scenery. This campground fit the bill. Honestly, we didn't use the campground... More

This was our first visit to Rip Van Winkle campgrounds. After reading some of the negative reviews, we were hesitant. We decided to take a chance as this location was perfect for our five day stay. I must say we had a wonderful time. The sites were huge and wooded. We have never had so much room to move around. The... More

Went tent camping. Sites are nice and wooded. Stream is a lot of fun for the kids. Pool is just ok. Bass pond with paddle boats is just ok. General store was limited but prices were very reasonable. Free coffee was nice. Employees very nice. Overall would go back again

Great family run campground. Sites are nestled into the trees very nicely. Lots of privacy. Nice clean restrooms and showers. Very nice camp store with good selection of everything from rv parts to swim paraphernalia for children plus candy and snacks. Owners couldn't be nicer and grounds are maintained very well. Conveniently located close to many historical sites such as... More
