Concerning location, aesthetics, serentity, romanticism, eccentricity, etc., the other reviews seem very accurate to me. We found the inn-keeper pleasant enough - even if a bit absent and taciturn - and a very good breakfast chef. I don't believe I ever tasted more delicious blueberry pancakes made from scratch. Two oddities, however. First, since the lighthouse is part of a... more

Yes, it's a beautiful place. And yes, it's a remarkable view and a stunning walk and thrilling to be out in the lighthouse, all alone. But that doesn't really excuse finding another guest's dried blood on my sheets. The lighthouse keeper, an affable guy, seemed more into his girlfriend than his job -- when we called him at about 10pm... more

I won't duplicate what others have said. This is a beautiful place on a beautiful site and a great experience. We went in August and had great weather. There is no air conditioning; we didn't need it. Very charming, wonderful to step back in time with the kitchen and the museum room. Breakfast was great. The beds are small (I... more

Stayed here for one night on a very beautiful spring day. The walk to the lighthouse was an easy one over wooden and dirt paths. The keeper was personable and informative regarding the reconstruction and history of the lighthouse. The breakfast was wonderful and prepared with local eggs, maple syrup, etc... The bedrooms are charming. There are two bedrooms on... more

We had a truly magical stay over Christmas weekend. The lighthouse, built in the 1860's and renovated to it's former charming self in the 1980's, is a quaint, brick structure, furnished as it was in it's original time with antiques, coal burning stove, 1930's refrigerator, old gas stove/oven, claw-footed bathtub, etc...Upon arrival, be prepared for a 1/2 mile walk (with... more

The event was a surprise. A pre 75th birthday gift from an aunt. All she said we were going to a B&B. Now who would have imagined a B&B in a lighthouse. The walk was enjoyable through blooming wildflowers, the anticipation as to where we were going was and then coming to lighthouse was a surprise. The weather was with... more

This was an experience everyone should have. The nature walk is abundent with wild flowers. The lighthouse itself is very well kept by the lighthouse keeper as well as the housekeeper. The conversations with both are very interesting. The grounds are very special with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. There are tables for picnics and benches... more

I was fascinated by the nature trail to the Lighthouse and enjoyed the 1/2 mile walk there. It was slightly muddy at the time being the end of September but that didnt deter my walk. I was spurred on by my need to see the Lighthouse while I was in the area and wondered to myself how on earth people... more
