I was camping on the Saranac Lake chain and had a medical emergency that brought me into town unexpectedly. The whole area was booked solid and I had the good fortune to find Steve and Linda. They were friendly, accommodating and even gave me a ride to the trail head the next morning. The Prescott House was a cool, historical... More

I really enjoyed staying at Steve's place in Saranac Lake. I used it as a base camp to hike the Adirondack mountains. My room was spacious, clean, quiet and accommodating with refrigerator, microwave, TV - Cable, and Internet. What more could I have asked for? The weather made it perfect. Steve was gracious offering to let me set up my... More

We were on a road trip and winging it for aplace to stay. We went to Lake Placid and heard that everything in town was full because of a lacross tournament, so we ended up in Saranac Lake we drove around and just happened to pull into Sara Placid. We were given two options at the Prescott House everything else... More

We were looking for a room on a fall foliage weekend, perhaps problematic? Steve took care of us. This house was built in 1905. We stayed in a room w/ a queen bed, a TV and a chair. The bathroom is shared across the hall from our room on the first floor. I think there are ten bathrooms in the... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Sorry you expierenced some heat problems in your room. It's difficult heating such a large building, when a few persons like their windows open in the fall season. During the winter months the thermostat is set higher. Hope to see you again. Prescott House has basic rooms (with the bath across the hall) in a quiet residential neighborhood just blocks from the center of town - which are rented via the Sara Placid Motor Lodge out on the highway southeast of town. We had a perfectly fine room with one queen for $89; the proprietor, Steve, was immediately responsive when we called... More

We recently stayed at the Prescott House during the 2012 Winter Carnival. I am so pleased to say that we had a fantastic stay. First, we really liked the location. Kinda off the beaten path, yet close enough to walk downtown for live music, dinner, etc... Although this is a historic building with an intriguing history, it was been fully... More

Looking for a weekend vacancy in Saranac Lake? the Prescott House is nice and clean, but is basically like staying in a dorm room. There were only a couple other people when I was there, so nice and quite, but if there were a lot of people could get noisy. Bathroom is dorm style - one per floor, with 3... More

While looking for a place to stay during the Lake Placid Ironman, I came upon the Sara Placid Motel website in Saranac Lake, just 6 miles from L. Placid. What good fortune! Steve, the owner, was most friendly over the phone and very helpful informing me about the Prescott House, a lovely dwelling built in the early 1900's as a... More
