A small, spotlessly clean and very well-run motel. Light and airy room with a small veranda. Nice situation with view of lake just across the road. Walking distance to lovely little town of Saranak Lake and several other amenities practically next door. Hosts, Joe and Edie, very kind, helpful and welcoming. We have been delighted with our stay and would... more

Amanda's Village motel is a lovely little motel in a nice little town. My wife and I stayed there 4 nights in July 2009. Be aware that this is an old-school 1960's type road-side motel - not just another link in one of the cookie-cutter chain motels/hotels. The visitor must be aware of this. The motel has multiple small 1-story... more

We decided to make a last minute ski trip to Whiteface, from NYC. We stayed four days at Amanda's Village. The trip was amazing, because of the owners Joe and Edie. Our room was immaculately clean. Spotless. Edie does all the cleaning herself- you can tell she cares about the rooms/property. We forgot our dog kennel, so we needed to... more

We stayed at Amanda's Village Motel this past fall. First, the motel is centrally located to many Adirondack activities. Our room was very clean and comfortable. And a special treat was that we had a view of Lake Flower, which is right across the street, so we were able to enjoy morning coffee, offered by the hosts, on our porch... more

For the money, Amanda's is a deal. It's not fancy or full of amenities. A basic room is what you get. It was small and a bit dated in the decor department (wood paneling), but for the amount of time I was actually in the room and the price compared to others staying just around the corner for about 50%... more

Staying at Amanda's was a real treat for us. We recently stayed three days while our nearby cabin was being worked on. After we decided we would not be staying at the Hotel Saranac (after staying there for several years), we really wanted to find a local place that was very low-pressure and friendly. Amanda's seriously fit the bill. It... more

Owners are very nice and great on local knowledge with directions and information. Outside could use some TLC, inside everything is a bit 'older' but somehow very clean. Bathroom could do with a makeover. Overall: A bit pricey for what we got. more

Right off the bat, we arrived late so the owners had already turned in for the night(family owned and run). But they told us which room was ours and they left the door unlocked and the lights on inside. A nice homey touch that made getting settled in quick and easy after a tiring drive. The room was great, even... more

The motel is family run. It has a very convenient location. Walking distance from the center of the village of Saranac lake and along the route to Lake Placid, Route 87. Lake Flower is just across the street offering a place to put a canoe in the water and a nice view of the mountains. The room I was given... more
