The Caldwell House is always great. My wife and I have stayed here several times and they always seem to get it right. Accommodations are excellent, beds and pillows are super comfortable and the linens are out of this world. We actually started buying them for our house (Comphy). Their hospitality is second to none. Highly recommend and look forward to another return visit.

Property's Favorite Review
I took my wife here for her birthday and couldn't be happier with our stay! Dena is an amazing host and made us feel very welcome throughout. We booked the Harmony Hill room in the Main house. Complete with king bed, super comfortable bedding, two-sided fireplace and jacuzzi tub, it was perfect! You'll love breakfast in the Great Room in Connemara House (one of 3 houses with available rooms), a beautifully appointed space with tons of light and distinctive American colonial feel. Breakfast, which changed daily, featured super fresh scones, muffins or baked peach, followed by eggs & sausage, quiche & bacon...all delicious and with a definite farm-to-table freshness that's hard to beat. The location gives good proximity to Storm King Art Center, West Point, Schunnemunk State Park, and Woodbury Common Outlets. We plan on coming back this fall to experience the fall foliage, as well as Dena and John's amazing hospitality!

Caldwell House is a large property with several old, interesting buildings. We stayed in the original house built in 1803, and because it was off season, we had it all to ourselves. It was well furnished, and we loved the realistic looking gas fireplace in our room (Antrim) and the one in the parlor. The sheets and pillows were divinely soft. Loved the wide plank original floor. The shared coffee station, refrigerator, and microwave station came in handy for early morning coffee, and late night adult beverages. Breakfast was multi-course, and so ample that we took our cranberry scones home for the next day. The owner, Dena, was very nice and accommodating. Ideally situated for discovering West Point (20 min), Newburgh (10-15 min), or staying overnight for a morning flight out of Stewart International Airport. The Irish pub around the corner (Loughran’s) serves the best corned beef and cabbage I’ve ever had!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in the spacious Harmony Hill room. The room was well appointed with two comfy chairs, the bed was very comfortable and the jacuzzi was great! Perfect sleeping conditions! Also notable was our host Dena who made us a delicious breakfast each morning at 9 am. We chose this inn because of the proximity to Storm King Arts Center which is 5 minutes away. Highly recommended!

Our experience at the Caldwell House was very pleasant. We stayed in the Rock of Cashel room in the Connemara House. The room was expansive and comfy. The bed was very good and temperature control in the room good too. Also, a gas fireplace if you so wish. Also some nice features such as a mini-fridge, separate ice maker, large shower with rain spout and spray jets, separate soaking tub, and big screen TV with subscriptions to Netflix, and maybe some others. The breakfasts were great and tailored to each of our preferences to a degree. Nancy doesn't eat meat, while I'll eat most anything. The breakfast basket included a nice container of OJ, along with coffee, tea, and other assortments like muffins and scones, in addition to things like scrambled eggs, blintzes, and fruit. Really nice. It was all very pleasant.
