On a recent trip to upstate New York (Cambridge area to visit friends); I stayed at The Bunker Hill Inn in Salem. I was very lucky to find availability this time of year. The Inn owner, Laura, is a lovely hostess. My room was the king room with a full bath. All rooms are well appointed. The Inn is located... More

I was here in August with my elderly parents and my twin boys and we loved it. Laura is a very charming host and makes you feel right at home. This part of NYS is very beautiful with rolling hills and open pastures, and plenty of dairy farms. On the high points of the area you can catch glimpses of... More

Beautiful, old farmhouse in a rural setting. Rooms are very well kept & cared for. Breakfasts each morning included homegrown and homemade items and were excellent, varied and filling. Laura, the owner, besides being extremely friendly went out of her way to pay attention to all dietary needs. The "Tea in Bed" option each morning was a pleasant way to... More

Bunker Hill Inn is a delightful country Inn located in the rolling hills of Washington County in Upstate NY! This is a converted old farmhouse lovingly maintained by the Innkeeper, Laura Coldwell, who grew up in that Homestead and still resides there today. There is a lovely side porch overlooking the beautiful garden area and it was the perfect place... More

Went up to Salem for a wedding. This was the first time my wife and I had ever stayed in a bed and breakfast, so we did not know what to expect. Admittedly, we were a bit apprehensive about the whole idea of staying in a stranger's home. I have to say, the bar has been set pretty high now.... More

In the great woods of Salem, NY in Dec. 2014 we found a charming, cozy, beautiful country Inn with a gracious home owner named Laura with her two very cute dogs. My mother, sister and myself admired every aspect of this comfortable old farm. Fresh cooked breakfast for three days was delicious and very memorable. We were fortunate to see... More

My daughter and I just had the delightful experience of staying at this lovely, charming inn. It could not have been more comfortable. Laura is a wonderful, gracious hostess and she serves a fabulous breakfast. The room was cozy and immaculate. We absolutely loved our stay and look forward to returning next year.

Laura is a gracious and generous host at her small bed and breakfast. It's a lovely place with a beautiful setting and a great location to get around Washington county. Look out the windows and see baby fox cubs, birds, deer grazing, turkey's, etc. it's wonderful. Beds were comfortable and everything is immaculately clean. Breakfast was also so fresh and... More

We stayed at the Bunker Hill Inn Bed and Breakfast during the Tour of the Battenkill cycling race. The owner was a wonderful hostess, and really catered to our needs. The kids especially loved the breakfast and the owner's two dogs, which were super friendly and, according to the kids, "the cutest, ever!". The rooms were HUGE and bathrooms nice.... More

This property holds a special place in my heart. For over 150 years, it was the residence of the Hanks family, (related to Nancy Hanks, Lincoln's mother). My mother, Sarah, was the last Hanks to reside in this beautiful place. It was sold to the Coldwell family in the early 1950's and remains so (Laura Coldwell is the current owner... More
