My wife and I were guests at the hotel for two months, and we were treated and respected as royalty. The corner room, with a kitchen, overlooking Lake Ontario and Navy Point Marina was beautiful. The Historic Village of Sackets Harbor is worth the trip alone, but the very best part of the entire experience was the Owner, David Maxon,... More

We came to share Thanksgiving with our son, a Capt with the 10th Mt.Division The weather was in the 20's and we hadn't stayed in Sackets before. The hotel was such a warm, restful part of our visit, the staff was very accommodating, the room and bed comfortable....we felt blessed to have such a cozy place so close to the... More

The staff at this hotel is terrific -- every person we encountered was really nice to deal with and they all seemed to have very good senses of humor. The place itself is pretty bland and nothing to write home about. The jacuzzi tubs are not very effective but are very loud. The location is perfect for this town...close to... More

had a wonderful stay at the Onterio. The bed was comfortable, the water was hot and the Hotel was quite. You can't beat the location. All the great little shops, great restaurants, and the battlefield all just a short walk away.

We stayed at the Penthouse. You get the entire top floor, it is very big like an apartment it has a kitchen, living room, dinning room with table, 2 bedrooms with king size beds. It had just been newly updated. It is definitely great for parties or families there was a built in speaker system that we were able to... More

We are so sorry that the soap dispensers were not filled and the bar soap were not in place! You were the first people to use the Penthouse after the update... Please accept my sincere apology! Thank you for the great comments! More

My fiancé and I had stayed here once before, but decided to come back to get away from the noise of Watertown when he returned from a 9 month deployment in Afghanistan. I called to make the reservations and asked about the cancellation policy in case I needed to switch the dates around, and the woman was so friendly and... More

Sackets Harbor is a very small city with limited lodging facilities. if you don't stay in a B&B this would rank high on a short list. Clean, quite and a spacious room with a light continental breakfast in the lobby. Walking distance to all of the downtown restaurants. Recommended

Ontario Place Hotel is located in a great little section of Sacket's Harbor. It is a clean and beautifully furnished small hotel. One of the best things is that it is within walking distance to 4 or 5 good restaurants- a few with lake views. We have stayed there twice and now recommend it to friends. Will certainly return when... More

Stayed one night over Labor Day weekend in a standard room. Had not been in Sackets Harbor for many years and wanted to visit and see what it was like now. Chose the Ontario Place primarily for location, although their nightly rate was less than area B and B's (and no two night minimum required). Room was fine, clean with... More

Yes, the place doesn't look as cozy, charming, or historic as most of the other buildings around it. And the lobby could you a refresh. However the room was very comfortable. We got the luxury suite with harbor view, room 212. It's more of a partial view, over the brew pub...not really worth paying extra in my opinion. That was... More

You’re correct about our building not being as historic as the rest of the village. It was built in 1920 as the Imperial Dog Biscuit factory and later it was Calavo’s Date Packing factory until the late 70’s. We repurposed the factory 24 years ago when it was converted into the Ontario Place Hotel and during the renovations we also... More
