We made our fourth visit to NY's Sampson State Park this week, and found it as nice as always. It is located directly on Seneca Lake, largest of the Finger Lakes and the park is beautiful and well maintained. The park is conveniently located for anyone wanting to visit the nearby wineries, and has a boat launch for access to... More

Stayed here for several days while touring the FL area and we were very pleased to find Sampson SP a nice spot on Seneca Lake. Being midweek off season, we were pleased to not have kids screaming and parents yelling and dogs running around our site as we have elsewhere at other times, but the sites themselves were very nice,... Camped this weekend with friends. Overall it was a good time, sites are close though with no privacy or sound buffers in loop C. We could hear our noisy loud talking neighbors all night. In addition from 3 am- 12am, every 3 min or so there are loud booms, like a distant cannon ( maybe to scare birds at wineries?).... More

We checked out this state park before we booked our campsites. We rarely go to a park without checking it out first. The sites we booked were very large and had some nice trees for shade. We had two sites and more than enough room for two camper trailers and two tents. The trees on the back of the sites... More

This is an old arm base and there are miles and miles of paved road. The roads are perfect for walking, riding bike or roller skating. The campsites are beautiful and well spaced with a lot of shaded sites or sites in the sun. The museum is a added bonus to explore during your stay.

This was our first time camping here. We decided to take a chance and camp here for a long weekend after all the reviews we read were good. Unfortunately, there were alot of things we wished we knew. First of all, like others reviewers have mentioned, bad signage is an issue. We got lost, asked for directions and even the... More

Granted it was at the last minute when we planned, the site we had was in the middle of an open field with no trees. The website should really tell you if there are no trees and that its a really tiny camping site. Ended up transferring to Cayuga Lake state park, much better

We spent four nights there with three other families. Sites are good sized. We picked sites in Loop 5 near the lake, but honestly, there's only one site with a decent view of the lake as the rest are shielded by trees. Lots of shade in the sites. Restrooms were generally clean. We thought that just two shower stalls (per... More

First of all finding your way into the campground is ridiculous. If we hadn't had gps on our phones we would've been totally lost. Tip: go straight past museum then turn rt. There's no signs directing you towards campground. This was a nice clean large campground. There's only a handful of waterfront spots. The electric hookup was so far away... More

We selected Sampson State park campground because it was in the middle of where we wanted to be. The campsites were spacious and level. There were plenty of trees and open space. The campers respected the quiet hours and were all very friendly. The only draw back is that this is a retired Air Force base and there for the... More
