Gross. We checked it to find that the connecting rooms we had a confirmation for were not available. "Upgraded" to a so-called suite with a king room and an adjacent room with a murphy bed and 'kitchen' with a refridgerator and a microwave we didn't need or want. The first thing I see upon entering is a piece of chewed... more

I booked this hotel as a one night stay on a road trip from Boston to Canada and wanted to break up the drive. I booked Hyatt based on the brand and my past stays with them. The hotel is located in the downtown area of Rochester right on the river. Very easy to find and park. I choose to... more

The rooms are very clean. The bed is super comfortable. The staff is very friendly and eager to please. HOWEVER.... There is so much noise from the street I could not sleep at all until the bus service stopped (around 1am)--motorcycles are a noise problem too because of the nice summer weather. The bus noise started right up at 6am.... more

We flew to Rochester to go to the Lilac Festival, which if anyone gets a chance they should attend to see and smell the flowers. We really should stop and smell the roses, I mean Lilacs more often. The Hyatt is centrally located in a refurbishing downtown; it's easy to get to/from. It's stylish and welcoming in a business kind... more

We took a weekend getaway to Rochester with our two small children, to take them to the Strong/National Museum of Play. The Museum is VERY close to this hotel. The major problem I encountered with this hotel and small children was the entrance/foyer. There were not any elevators, only a flight of stairs. You're better off to park first and... more

I"m amazed at the few bad reviews. I've stayed at many motels and hotels, including Hiltons, over the years and this hotel has the most comfortable pillows and mattress(es) that I've ever slept on. I stayed for only 2 nights for a wedding and its events in the hotel so I did not care about the surrounding area or outside... more

We had a nice stay there. The room was clean and we had a great view. The staff was wonderful. The front desk girls were very nice and eager to offer advice. The hostess in the restaurant also very nice. One tip, prices in the restaurant were extremely outrageous 40.00 for french toast, an omelet and 2 coffees, not including... more

Stayed here one brief night and did not get to use all the facilities. My hotel room was tired- furniture a little worn, carpet didn't exude clean, bathroom lighting was not bright enough. Staff was nice, check-in was uneventful. The breakfast at the restaurant was mediocre. I rate this average because a Hyatt Place (fresh, clean, and contemporary) would beat... more

I've been staying here on a fairly regular basis for the better part of 10 years. It's probably your best bet for staying in downtown Rochester. With a corporate discount, I usually pay around $130 - $140/night. The rooms have been remodeled in the last year or two and and are usually pretty nice. As noted in other reviews, parking... more

Having read some of the reviews prior to my stay, I was a bit concerned. I was pleasantly surprised!!! The staff were friendly and efficient and the room was better than I expected. Although many of the businesses and shops in the downtown area have closed down, I found a great restaurant (Dinosaur BBQ) within a 5-10 minute walk. The... more
