“You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.” Johann Wolfgang Goethe In the middle of making a reservation for an available room over the phone, I informed the lady on the other end that our 4-year old daughter is traveling with us. After being informed that the only... More

This gentleman was not a guest at our Inn, and was quick to disregard our written policies regarding children (his child is four). As with most Inns, we do not encourage babies and young children as we are an adult facility with lots of breakables and are often a getaway for parents who have left their small children at home.... My three friends and I spent my birthday weekend enjoying time at this cozy waterfront cottage. It was the perfect location for all our needs, including the mandatory trip to the Cheesecake Factory (20 minute drive) that we try to fit in every time we cross the border! The cottage was spotless and well equipped, and the fireplace was definitely... More

Our first trip to this Inn won't be our last! This is a beautiful, restored mansion that should not be missed the next time you pass through Rochester, NY. The neighborhood is quiet, safe and a short walk down the street to boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Heather was a sweetheart and very helpful. Also, a great cook with killer French... More

I love to stay at B&B's! The Edward Harris House was a very nice option for us during the orientation move-in days at the University of Rochester. Located in a lovely neighborhood with other large older homes with a lot of character, about 4 miles from the University, near the Museum's on East Ave, we enjoyed being able to walk... More

We were so lucky to have been able to have the inaugural stay at the new lake cottage of the Edward Harris Inn on Long Pond in Greece this past week. It is a quaint, beautiful lake cottage where you and your family can spread out, enjoy the cool breezes off the pond, sit around a fire and relax. We... More

SO glad that you enjoyed your stay at The Pond Cottage. You were our very first guests and we hope that you will come again one day to see all the little (and big) changes that happen over time. I just got back myself from a long weekend stay at the Cottage. It was so relaxing! Thank you for the... More

Our family slept soundly, ate well and felt oh-so-pampered and comfortable during our stay at this remarkable and wonderful Bed and Breakfast, conveniently located in the Park Avenue district on Argyle Street. Our stay coincided with Commencement Weekend (both RIT and U of R) and the city was very busy, our schedules were hectic. Our oasis was this special place,... More

Graduation weekends are as special to us as they are to the parents and families that stay with us. In many cases - these are families we have watched grow and change throughout the 4 (sometimes 5) years that parents stay with us. It's always sad to see them go - but hopefully one day they will (and do) come... More

My husband and I travel extensively. As a result we tend to be careful when we choose any new accommodations. After reading the numerous high ratings on the Edward Harris Inn we chose it for our much needed escape. Suffice it to say the previous positive reviews were all right on the mark. We too found the home, the food,... More

From making reservations to checkout, we were impressed with the friendly, fast responses we received to inquiries and the impeccable accommodations from top to bottom. We were only in town for one night, and staying here was perfect. Beautiful old house, elegantly decorated, but also felt very homey. Very large bedroom, with desk/chaise so we could both get some work and reading done. Bathroom was spotless, had toiletries for us to use which was a nice touch. We didn't have much time, but the living... More

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our property. We love the neighborhood as well! We are terribly sorry you didn't like the mattress - it's a top of the line pillow top from Serta. We will be happy to check into that for you to see what the problem might be. Hope to see you both again... More
