1. The location was OK. Close to several main highways, so convenient for traveling around this part of Long Island. No stores or much of anything in the area, except for a couple of convenience stores in gas stations and a McDonalds a block or so away. Note that the immediate area has nothing and to some people may seem... more

As the son of a window/door service man that covers the whole Northeast, I probably stay at 30 different hotels per year for one night. Because we have to keep the cost down, we stay at the cheapest place we can find. It was early August in Riverhead, and all hotels were $250+, except for the budget host that was... more

Went to Riverhead Raceway for a 2-day race weekend. Three of us had three rooms reserved for Saturday 10/11 stay. Got a call from the hotel at 6:00pm night of arrival that they could not honor any of our reservations and they had moved all of us to the Greenview Inn which was a filthy dump. Travelers beware! Appears they... more

Four Seasons? No. But, affordable and accommodating? Yes. We needed to stay in the area for an early morning triathlon. We didn't want to have to have a two or three night minimum and pay $200+ a night to stay in the Hamptons proper since we had to be up so early. The Budget Host fit the bill. The staff... more

Like others, we booked this hotel only because it would take a one night stay and was available last minute on a holiday weekend. We weren't expecting much--I figured it would be Motel 6 quality, at least clean and comfortable for one night. It was quite below Motel 6---the carpets musty and damp, the bed uncomfortable, and there was a... more

Well...I was wary from the reviews but my boyfriend booked the property on a whim and there weren't any other vacancies at the better quality hotels. So we drove out from the city and I laughed out loud when I saw the 'hotel'. It's one of those places that looks like people book by the hour. The check-in was very... more

Situated on a quaint piece of property. Don’t be taken aback when you arrive. The moment you step inside of the lobby, the excellence in customer service will be evident. We were warmly greeted, given a key immediately (and we were late...) and given great information about the surrounding area. The property is centrally located -which is why we chose... more

I was in the area for work, and basically this was the only place that fit my travel allowance and location criteria. It's a basic motel, not a lot of frills. There is a main building with the office and small dining area for breakfast, and other separate buildings for the rooms. The room was large, and fitted with a... more

I had to travel from northern VA for my mom's burial at nearbye Calverton Veterans Cemetary (dad buried there) as she passed away so it was very emotional and I needed the hotel to come through and not make things worse. Well, Budget Host was ready for me as I got in around midnight and the clerk at check-in was... more

Bring your own pillows, if you want to sleep somewhat comfortably. I woke up in pain every night and had to down a few aleves. Also there was no hairdryer available so pack one of those as well ladies. While you are at it you might want to bring some towels as the ones they supply are super small. First... more
