Our first night here and the food was great! Our waitress Kathy Belfance was AWESOME! She helped select the absolute best dish and REALLY knew her stuff! Friendly, helpful full of life and smiles! We loved it SO much we are going back tomorrow for more!

Couldn't have had a better dinner anywhere! Thanks to Chef Mike and Owner Chris for a wonderful dinner and beautiful evening on the lake. Dinner was five stars, the setting was gorgeous and the overall evening was perfect. Thank you to all at the Lake House!!

Rustic without the charm. Stayed on second floor in a very small room. Very old mattress and a/c unit. So dark you can not see in bathroom. Dead rat on dock to lake and goose poop every where on grass. Drive to Cooperstown Dream Park is 25 minutes away. Trap is that owner charges half your stay on your credit... More

Wavey Glass on the original windows to the parquet wood floors, this grand hotel has survived since the early 1800s. Hotel is walking distance to downtown restaurants, library, large village park and antque shops. Our family stayed during the 4th of July week.We loved the girls that ran the hotel. The free breakfast was a treat with 6 in the... More

I will first list the Pro's to staying at the Lake house. Beautiful view of the lake, large enough for our entire baseball team to stay in. The sheets were clean. We built many great memories, staying up late and talking. Con's. This house is very rustic, not cozy, rustic. We could not see to shower in our room. One... More

All of the parents for my son's baseball team stayed here so we rented the entire place for a full week. The only good thing I can say is that the land that this property sits on is beautiful. The hotel is a complete dump (e.g., water pressure like something you watched on M*A*S*H, cats running wild everywhere - even... More

My family stayed at the Lake House Hotel for 5 days the first week of July. Our room was well maintained with a new bed and bathroom. The lounge was great for our family of six, large enough for all of us since we needed two rooms. We used the canoes and had enough for all of us to use... More

This place is a dump! It's dirty and should be shut down as a hotel property. The week we were there we saw cats roaming the house and kitchen (hence the mouse poop on my pillow!), the water smells like rotten eggs (if you can even get it to come out of the faucet!) and the staff would not even... Just returned home from our best get-a-way ever! I and my 2 children, 6 and 8 years old, spent the weekend here. We saw a musical at the nearby Glimmerglass Theater and spent the remainder of the weekend at the Lodge. We loved it! Every bit! The staff not only made us feel "at home", they made us feel special,... More

July 2014-We also were the victim of Gene and his shady dealings, stay AWAY from The Lake House. In our case he called on Friday to give us a different address to check into claiming the other address was his 'corporate headquarters and NOT a hotel"! Needless to say we wound up at the 'annex' where his staff cheerfully informed... More
